Tim Easterby does well at the Western meeting and he saddles a couple in this Class 4 0-85 handicap. The one that interests me is Father Bertie who carries joint top weight along with stable mate Silvery Moon and Miss Van Gough. The selection last won off this mark at Redcar in October and has also won on soft ground before which is a bonus. He is the choice of jockey David Allen and comes here after a decent 3rd at Carlisle.

Marathon contest and some won't get home here so it may pay to concentrate on the C/D winners Riptide, Tuscan Gold and Another Linclolnday. Of the three i prefer former winner of this race Riptide who can be a tricky customer but is in good heart at present and i like the jockey booking of William Twiston-Davies who may be able to kid him along in the early stages. He looks sure to be staying on up the home straight and looks a bet to nothing for each way backers.
