This horse has been well fancied for various races this season, notably the Chester Cup. Well backed again in the Northumberland Plate and ran much better when finishing 6th. Decent ground seems to be the key as he ran well last time at Ascot when second to a decent sort and interesting that he travel up here to Scotland for a weaker event. Only 1lb higher than last time and must go close.

Andalusite ran an ok race and isn’t one to totally write off yet caught 3 wide throughout likely to do better from a kinder draw. Cool Music’s race was cut up and raced with too much enthusiasm to which the other 2 just tracked easily typical 3 runner race.

 

2.20 Wolverhampton

Both divisions of this handicap are poor at best and wont take much winning. Burauq is of interest despite his poor draw in stall 8, theres not a huge amount of pace on in this race and that could suit Burauq if he is able to get over from his wide draw. He won 2 handicaps on the bounce in the winter at Kempton and Lingfield over 6f last one off 56 races off 46 today after some below par efforts on turf latest. Blinkers back on having tried visor latest and gets the skills of a very capable claimer in Josephine Gordon claiming  a handy 3lb on top of his lowly mark dangerous to dismiss in arace like this.

2.50 Wolverhampton

Virile may well romp home in this but I came keen to take him on at 11/8 given he only raced 2 days ago although unlucky in the run that was over 5f, not so convinced over todays 6f.

Dream Ally is some what of a CD specialist he won in good style back in April off a mark of 48 has run well recently off much higher marks latest over 5f at Newcastle when staying on over 5f, will be better suited to this return to 6f, has won off higher marks previously and looks to be in form at present in a race where that cant be said for the most he should go well.
