The event dates back to 1812 and the roll of honour is like a who’s who of staying thoroughbreds. Double Trigger won the race three times in the 1990’s and the legendary Yeats has won it twice in the last ten years. This years race has 15 runners declared and looks a wide-open contest, Big Orange won twelve months ago and he returns in a bid to join those famous multiple winners and is the favourite to do so. Quest For More and Pallasator who were second and fourth respectively are also in the line up.
