3.40 Ascot: Hardwick Stakes

Verdict:

A decent renewal here for the Hardwicke Stakes and you can’t ignore the chances of Sir Michael Stoute adding to his already impressive record in the race. He just seems to have the late maturing types who do well at this sort of trip. Of the two I have to agree with Ryan Moore who has opted to ride Exosphere over Dartmouth. He was very impressive last time and runs in the same colours as last years winner Snow Sky.

Eagle Top is always a danger but rarely delivers so I’m not a fan of his and one at a price that may run well is Almodovar who is a progressive sort and could nick a place if things fall right.

4.20 Ascot: Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Verdict:

We have a fewer runners than normal but no doubting the quality on offer here. We have an intriguing clash between three of the best young sprinters in Britain plus Group 1 winners from Australia, Hong Kong and America added into the mix.

Magical Memory has probably been the best of the home contingent and he will go in the ground too so has to be the number one choice. Frankie Dettori has opted to ride him instead of Undrafted and the hint should be taken.
