difficult race to rate ..all hinges on whether this fav mitchum swagger will improve or not ....at 7/4 its probably the toss of a coin will he wont he but that makes him far too short and no value .... bertie whittle won well over 7f last time ....no guarntees he will be as effective over a mile but still looks capable of running well and hes four times the price of the fav around 13/2 ....manchestar is a riskier bet but posted a nice time recently suggesting hes coming back to peak form and represents fahey whos no mug ....20/1 looks too big and hes a value ew bet ....ill take the fav on

Haydock looks a good card today and the one i really fancy is from Mr Hannon's yard, this bay colts father is none other than the Derby winning Motivator, still a baby at 2 and never been given a hard race, he's not been seen on a race track just a day shy of 50 days and what with the season coming to a close Mr Hannon is ''sure'' to have him SPOT ON for this.

He ran a cracker last time out at Goodwood under Sean Levey over the mile and just ran out of petrol at the business end, today he takes a drop in trip and what with Tom Marquand up for the first time this race should be Tom's cherry on top for lifting the apprentice Championship on Saturday.

The horse is joint owned but the most famous of the owners is Sir Alex Ferguson, any money that comes would be a MASSIVE indication on how connections expect the Son of Motivator to perform.

The showing 9/2 at the moment looks very very generous, i can see him coming out Gate 4' at around more like 3/1 or less, only bad traffic gets him beat
