BillyHills
Scoop6 – Saturday September 26thThe Tote Scoop6 only lasted three legs last week before everyone was knocked out. The Win Fund starts £109,943 and we have six races from Newmarket, Haydock, Chester and some jumping action from Market Rasen. The feature race this weekend is the Betfred Cambridgeshire at 3.50pm. Leg 1: 2.15 Market RasenWe kick off with a Listed handicap hurdle, only ten runners but quite competitive and trainer John Ferguson saddles a couple of likely sorts for this time of year. Top weight is Commissioned who won in June at Cartmel but his stable mate Broughton is probably the one to concentrate on of the two. He can be a bit quirky but certainly has the ability and beat Laudatory at Stratford last time out. The runner-up gets a hefty weight pull here and always performs well at the track so could well get his revenge. Gran Maestro won the big race here in July and will be fancied again as will the Northern hope Manhattan Swing from the Ellison yard.Selection: Laudatory 9/1 bet365 (Manhattan Swing) Leg 2: 2.30 ChesterA big field here for the tight turns of Chester and it goes without saying the low numbers will have a big advantage. My pair against the field are Kinematic and Cadeaux Power who are drawn in stalls seven and five. Kinematic is the only C/D winner in the line up and wont want anymore rain but looks well handicapped to me. Cadeaux Power is quick away as a rule and could find herself in pole position turning for home and Tim Easterby has a decent record around here.Selection: Kinematic 10/1 William Hill (Cadeaux Power) Leg 3: 2.35 NewmarketThe Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes and the top five all have chances. Aidan O’Brien sends over Alice Springs who was a fair third last time out in the Moyglare. Besharah won well at York in the Lowther from the well fancied Lumiere and will be a popular choice for punters but I have a feeling the runner-up will be a different proposition this time now she has more experience. The Hannon runner Illuminate must enter calculations after winning a Group 2 contest last time.Selection: Lumiere 4/1 Coral (Illuminate) Leg 4: 2.50 Market RasenA very nice Listed Chase for the time of year and you could give any of the ten runners a chance of some sort. Paul Nicholls hasn’t had many runners as yet this season but Valco De Touzaine has been busy. He won at Worcester in June and ran a cracker last time at Newton Abbot in a similar Listed contest. I like Oscar Rock but his stable have been needing a run so will swerve him and go with the Nicky Richards runner Gold Futures. He ran third at Newton Abbot in that Listed contest, he didn’t get the run of the race that day and this track will suit him better, he could have a bright future.Selection: Gold Futures 8/1 BetVictor (Valco De Touzaine) Leg 5: 3.20 Haydock ParkSoft ground expected here at Haydock for this 6f sprint and that will suit the Fahey runner Ballesteros who is drawn on the far side in stall 2. Another who should go well is Flyman, he was a solid 4th last week at Ayr in the Bronze Cup and has won at Ripon and Donny with cut in the ground. He’s drawn wide in 16 and that might be the best place to be. Fast Shot has been promising to pop in for sometime and is added to the shortlist along with Brando from the Ryan yard and another Fahey runner in Khelman.Selection: Flyman 10/1 Ladbrokes (Fast Shot) Leg 6: 3.50 Newmarket : Cambridgeshire HandicapWithout doubt the hardest race of the day to work out with 35 runners lining up including last years winner Bronze Angel (also won it in 2012). He came back to form last time out at Donny and is not out of it by any means. Hunt Cup winner GM Hopkins has to be on the shortlist too, he won the consolation in 2014 so goes on the track and wears a hood for the first time.My idea of the winner is the Stoute horse Abseil, lightly raced this season and could be one that is well handicapped. A good third at York was followed by a similar effort at Epsom and has Ryan Moore back from injury. Of the others I like Birdman and Earth Drummer from the O’Meara yard.Selection: Abseil 14/1 Paddy Power (Birdman)
Jimmy2shoes
All the attention seems to be on the top two in the market for the Fillies Group 1 at HQ BUT punters are forgetting THREE simple words, Sir Ryan Moore. His ride being a daughter of Galileo and owned by Mr Magnier and Co wasn't given a hard ride last time out at Curragh, she had traffic problems and what with TWO stable mates in-front of her one being the very well thought after ''Ballydoyle'' - her jockey was NEVER getting serious.Today Sir Ryan Moore gets the leg up and with Mr O'brien sending over just the 3 runners she's hardly making the journey for just a day out, YES the top two will be hard to beat BUT failing to take Ryan Moore's timely return on a BIG Saturday could leave you out of pocket.I would NEVER talk a punter out of backing the markets two leaders, but id start biting your nails if you see Sir Ryan in the Mix where it matters, his timely return in more than one way might just haunt you.2:35 Newmarket - Alice Springs
