Creating a Tissue Advice

Recommended Posts

I've never really gone to the effort of preparing my own tissue odds for a given race, instead just asking myself how fair I feel the price of a particular horse is relative to their chances. Obviously this is a very crude method of analysing the value of a particular race, and to prepare an entire tissue would be much more comprehensive (so it's something I'm looking to get into). I'm keen to gauge how you guys tend to go about compiling a list of prices (or %chances). Do you use a ratings system? And if so how do you convert these ratings to %chance of winning (ie. do you use a distribution?) If you look through a handicap and identify that one horse may have a few pounds in hand, do you have a method to convert this to a %chance? What margin are you looking for in order to choose to play? Are there any comprehensive guides that an idiot like myself could understand?
