They played 4 games(2 cup and 2 league), lost 3 of them, scoring 6 goals and conceding a crazy 13 goals. Portland Timbers finally ended their 4 winless games streak with an unimpressive 1-0 win over the Fire last week. RSL is pretty rubbish away but at home, they are a quite decent team. Till now, they are still undefeated. Timbers are like RSL when playing away, a very poor road team. I have backed them a few times in the last few weeks but they haven't impress me with how they play. The Timbers are 2W-4L-5D in the regular season versus the Claret and Cobalt. At the odds given for the DNB option, there is enough value to back the unbeaten home team.

MLS: New England Revolution- New York Red Bulls This match is a key in terms of winning the Eastern Conference and getting that #1 post season ranking. New York look in control of the situation at the moment and even if Revolution won and claimed the three points which would take them top, Red Bulls would still only be one point adrift with two games in hand and it is easy to see this as more imprtant to the home side. But both are in great form and ahead of their home start I wrote the following about NER.... Revolution have got back on track and are unbeaten in five , winning four, after a run in which they took just just 6 points from a possible 33 saw them fall from first place in the Eastern Conference to 6th and on the verge of dropping out of a post season spot. They did something very similar last season, having a mid season blip before making a run to the MLS Cup decider, where they unluckily lost to LA Galaxy in extra time. They will be hoping that history repeats and that they can come on strong from now on in. They are not as hard hit by international call ups as other MLS teams and certainly not Orlando, who lose star player Kaka (Brazil), top scorer Cyle Larin (Canada ) and key defensive midfielder Darwin Ceren (El Salvador), the trio have 22 goals and five assists between them from a team who have scored "only" 33 goals and they are pretty much the first three names on the team sheet and HUGE losses. They won that 3-0 and followed up with a 3-1 win at Toronto at the weekend. We discussed and opposed Red Bulls for a trip to Chicago Fire three weeks ago and those notes are reproduced in full below.
