Flat Racing - Sunday 26th April

4:00 Gowran Park (Listed) Euphrasia probably needs more rain to get involved here and the Ballydoyle runner will need to improve significantly so I'm going to focus on the front two in the market here. Dermot Weld has won the last two renewals and has the progressive Carla Bianca in this who has strong claims in this Listed affair. However she probably didn't win the strongest Group 3 last time and she runs into the highly rated 3 year old Legatissimo with a penalty to carry. Legatissimo has multiple classic entries and won a strong maiden on his second start last year with subsequent Group 1 winner Together Forever back in 4th. She then finished a close 2nd to the high class Jack Naylor in a Listed race who went on to place in the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp with Together Forever behind again as well as a Group 3 winner. Wayne Lorden wasn't too hard on her reappearance when she finished 4th in heavy ground and now back on good ground I fancy her to put in a bold performance up in trip which should suit given the stamina on the dams side. 3 year olds have won 5 of the last 9 renewals and in receipt of 17lbs from the favourite Legatissimo looks a nice bet at 4/1. Legatissimo - 1pt Win @ 4/1 Paddy Power 5:35 Gowran This looks a decent race with 3 good maiden winners. Royal Navy Ship is one I'm keen to take on first time out who was massively disappointing on his 2nd start in a Group 3 race at Leopardstown after winning a decent maiden well. He's sired by War Front who's progeny seem to impress initially before disappointing (War Command, The Great War and now Faydhan) so who knows how he'll train on. He also likes to get a lead in his races but so does Prologue which won't help. Zafilani was disappointing in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes for me at a time when Weld seemed to have his horses on another level fitness wise. Although he did manage to keep John F Kennedy behind him but he was a long way off the winner. Mohaayed is the interesting one now upped in trip after only finding Endless Drama and Zawraq too good in a very strong Listed race at Leopardstown. He won a very good maiden with ease last year which has produced a good few winners including the smart Ballydoyle colt Giovanni Canaletto and is thought highly of by connections. Mohaayed has the best form for me and should probably be a bit shorter so I'll take the 5/2. Mohaayed - 1pt Win @ 5/2 Paddy Power
