Tracker Horses 2015 (Flat)

Recommended Posts

Inspired by arsenalfh's thread with his horses to follow I thought I'd do my own but these are all horses I currently have tracked for the coming season so the list is fairly big but was interested to see how they do over the 2015 season. So I'll back the runners accordingly I may not back all of them if they for example 2 or more horses are up against each other may have to decide on a bet but in the main they will be backed through the season. I may also throw in some ante post bets if I back any horse ante post. The list has 50 English based horses, 10 Irish Horses, 5 French horses and 10 Australian horses. Re: 2015 Tracker Horses (Flat) 15th April Newmarket 3.30 - Faydhan (no bet) Very short odds about Faydhan here so will give this one a watching brief but his win last season was mighty impressive and the horse he beat was a subsequent Group 3 winner. Currently second fav in the Guineas a win here is a must to stay on course for that you would think and if he's ready to go here should be too good for them. Newmarket 4.40 - Algaith (1pts win, 16/1 Bet365) 8th to Consort on debut and well beaten that day but then had a second up win at Kempton before cruising home at Wolverhampton by 5 lengths. Switched back to turf today starts a big price but I don't think there's an awful lot to split most of these today.

Glad I took a watching brief on Faydhan today! I don't think he ever looked like winning at any stage of the race and in the end was beaten fair and square don't think there can be too many excuses made for him. Algaith was pitched in pretty deep today compared to what He had done and in the end found them too good although I do think he settled better out in front today then he had done last year but the horses behind were too strong for him today. Faydhan: 3rd of 5 - Broke slowly, settled at rear of field, pushed along with no immediate response, well held. Algaith: 7th of 7 - Broke well and took up running, lead up to 2 furlongs out, eased when beaten. Bets: 1 Pts Staked: 1 Won: 0 P/L: -1.0

Re: Tracker Horses 2015 (Flat) 16th April Newmarket 2.55 (Tattersalls Millions 3yo Trophy, G3) - Rocky Rider (1pts win, 7/2 BetVictor) Put up a decent debut run at Haydock when 4th of 14 before winning on second start at Windsor where he had to knuckle down and fight for his win just seeing off Magic Dancer by a nose who then went on to win a maiden. He then went to Chelmsford 28 days ago and dotted up by 6 lengths beating Godolphins Monein. So has the run under his belt and was a taking winner lto this is tougher but if maintaining his upward curve should be there. Newmarket 3.30 (Abernant Stakes, G3) - Rivellino (1pts win, 14/1 BetVictor) Won two runs back at Lingfield when he beat Glen Moss in the listed Cleves stakes but was a bit flat lto at the same track. Has a bit to find with some of these and will be pitched into easier events this season but could go well. Newmarket 4.05 (Craven Stakes, G3) - Nafaqa (1pts win, 7/2 BetVictor) 4 runs last term and impressed with each effort. Was 4th on debut to Richard Pankhurst and then won two in a row and Doncaster and Newbury before chasing the impressive Elm Park home in the Group 2 Royal Lodge over C&D when sent off 5/4 favourite so on paper holds good claims here today. Newmarket 4.40 (Earl of Sefton, G3) - French Navy (1pts win, 5/2 BetVictor) Signed off 2014 with a hat trick of wins including a Group 3 win in the Diomed at Epsom he was also a close second in this last year and goes well at Newmarket. He looks the most solid option here having won already over 1m2 so today's trip is fine and if fully wound up today should be bang there.

Overall some decent runs today Rocky Rider who was probably a bit too keen again like his previous races probably can't get away with that against this tougher opposition so it probably told a bit. Nafaqa did little wrong but just couldn't peg back the front runner finishing 2nd and Rivellino ran ok for a long way, I can see him landing a slightly lesser handicap this year but the only winner on the day was the impressive French Navy for Godolphin who won with a little bit up his sleeve. Rocky Rider: 3rd of 8 - Pulled hard but led most of the way, kept on under pressure, beaten 1/2 length into 3rd. Rivellino: 10th of 11 - Broke fast, tracked leaders up to 1 furlong out, weakened. Nafaqa: 2nd of 7 - Raced Keenly, Settled behind leader, ridden 1 furlong out, not getting to leader. French Navy: - 1st of 8 - Held up in rear, Switched around outside of field, Smooth headway 1 furlong out, won comfortably. (3/1 sp) Selections: 5 Pts Staked: 5 Winners: 1 P/L: -1.0

Re: Tracker Horses 2015 (Flat) 18th April Australia Randwick 3.45 (Race 6, All Aged Stakes) - Chautauqua (1pts win, 9/4) and Shooting To Win (0.5pts win, 15/2 both BetVictor) The final Group 1 in Australia's Sydney Carnival of racing and an excellent looking renewal. Two of my tracker horses go in this and while I think Chautaqua has the strongest claim I can't ignore Shooting To Win here either so shall be backing both. Chautaqua landed a deserved Group 1 when winning the TJ Smith Stakes at this track and has winning form over todays trip and that race has proven a great form guide to this race in the past. The most eye catching manner of that win was the heav going that day meant horses had struggled to come off the pace but Chautaqua came with a storming run from the rear to win and that electric turn of foot would prove too much for these to handle. Shooting To Win comes off a 5th placing in the George Ryder which now looks very strong form two of the first four home won a Group 1 the next start and the other 2 who finished ahead of him have been placed in Group 1 races next time out. If Chautaqua gets a good pace to run at He should prove too good if repeating his TJ Smith run but if it's more a muddling pace then Shooting To Win could strike.

Re: Tracker Horses 2015 (Flat) 18TH APRIL Newbury 1.45 (John Porter Stakes, G3) Pether's Moon (0.5pts win, 12/1 Bet365) Solid form at today's 1m4 trip last season including wins in Group 3 company at Goodwood and Ascot. Probably found 1m2 a bit too sharp on his last run in the Group 1 Champion Stakes and was pitche din very deep that day. Is conceeding 5lbs all around though today which makes this tough but could still run his race. Newbury 2.15 (Fred Darling, G3) Tiggy Wiggy (2pts win, Evens Betfred) Star filly last year who's form stands out a long way above the rest of this field. Today's trip is the unknown but if getting it she will take all the beating. Newbury 2.50 (Greenham Stakes, G3) Ivawood (1pts win, 13/8 Betfred) and Estidhkaar (0.5 pts win, 6/1 Bet365) Three of my tracker horses are in this race but I think Muhaarar is up against it here so I will just watch him today. I will be backing the two Hannon runners with Ivawood shading it for me, the better ground today will help as he was beaten on soft his last start last year and I expect him to be the one they have to get past to win. Estidhkaar can't be overlooked in this either and he was very impressive at Newmarket and Doncaster before flopping in the Dewhurst but could bounce back. Newbury 3.25 (Spring Cup, HC) Buckstay (1pts win, 7/1 Bet365) and Bronze Angel (0.5 pts each way, 20/1 Bet365) Buckstay made an impressive return this season when running second in the Spring Mile and has handy form in these big field handicaps which I like horses to have to prove they can handle the hurly burly nature of these races and that also applies to Bronze Angel who was as good as ever last season in the big handicaps winning at York, Ascot and Newmarket in 18+ fields. Life is tougher off this current mark but can't count her out of it.

Re: Tracker Horses 2015 (Flat) They found a small hairline fracture in Estidhkaar's leg after the Dewhurst which explains why he was slow and going right out of the stalls. He never looked himself that day so I willing to write that run off and Hannon has said he's done best of all his 2 year olds so I think he could bounce back today.
