ICe hockey world cup WARNING

Recommended Posts

Not a post with picks this one as it's too early to get some decent prices and value - even too early to watch for me. ONE THING IS IMPORTANT THOUGH - the ice has probably never been of such a bad quality (for this level of game and with all those NHL stars in). You can even swim in the rink come second or third period. In this situation - and it will not change as they have no equipment to do anything with it - always think twice before backing huge handicaps (like Canada -5.5 to bt Slovenia) or going over when the goal line is too high (like 7 goals in the above match). I would not recommend backing an over when the line is above 4.5 or 5) and handicaps to cover are to be -1 or max -2 (NOT 2.5) when there is a huge gap between the teams. Now after the first round all the strong teams know and the managers will be saving their top stars for the quarters as there is an extreme danger some of the top player might get injured simply due to the bad quality of ice.:spank - PS and Fasel - head of int. com. of ice hockey - left Austria as soon as he mellt trouble and teams started complaining. BTW - all other countries (Czech Rep. last year, LAtvia next year, Russia in two years) HAD TO build new stadiums, while in Vienna they are using the ancient one - most of the funds for reconstruction were spent on a parking lot.:loon:spank

Re: ICe hockey world cup WARNING I heard they wanted to bring a second mobile ice making unit into the stadium, don't know when this will take effect though (if any). As well, temperatures will drop significantly in Vienna after today (about 10 degrees, we already witnessed that), so there might be a bit less stress on the ice. Still a big stadium and if filled (10'000 spectators) generating a lot of heat (so maybe a match tomorrow with low attendance could offer comparably fast ice and many goals ????) just my 2 cents
