Re: Sky Bet League 2 > December 19th & 20th Source: William Hill OPTA Stats [h=1]Sky Bet League Two Opta Facts December 19-20[/h] Southend United v Burton Albion Southend won two and lost one of the four meetings between these two sides last season. Burton have won three of the last six clashes with Southend in all competitions. Southend have claimed just one point from behind this season. No League Two has won fewer than them. The Brewers kept a clean sheet in their opening away game this season against Oxford but have conceded in each of their last 10 on the road. 33% of Burton's goals this season have come in the 15 minutes leading up to half time (10 of 30). Tranmere Rovers v Cambridge United This will be the first meeting between the two sides since April 2002. Cambridge's only win in their last five clashes with Tranmere (D1 L3) came in the last game between them. Tranmere's Max Power has found the net seven times in his last nine games for the club (in all comps). The only side to have more different goalscorers than Cambridge (13) this season are Newport (14) Tranmere have used 32 different players this season in League Two, a league-high figure. Cambridge are next on 31. Accrington Stanley v Wycombe Wanderers The home side have won none of the last six clashes between Accrington and Wycombe. Both games between the two teams in 2013/14 finished as draws. John O'Sullivan has scored in his last two games for Accrington, having gone nine without a goal. Wycombe are looking to win a fourth successive away game for the first time since November 2010. The Chairboys boast the best away record in League Two, taking 23 points from a possible 30. They've also scored the most goals on the road (20) and conceded the fewest (8). AFC Wimbledon v Mansfield Town Despite winning all four clashes between these two sides in the Conference, Wimbledon failed to beat Mansfield in either league match last season. Mansfield kept two clean sheets against the Dons last season, winning one and drawing the other. Matt Tubbs has netted four goals in his last five appearances for the Dons (all comps). The Stags have scored just three times since the start of November. Two of those goals have come from Vadaine Oliver. George Francomb assisted all three of Wimbledon's goals against York last weekend. He leads the way for assists in the division (8). Bury v York City Bury have won their last four games at home to York City, scoring two or more on each occasion. York won the last meeting between the two sides - 1-0 in April thanks to Keith Lowe's early strike. Bury are looking to avoid a fifth successive loss, something which last happened to them in September 2011. 13 of York's 19 points this season have come in away games. The Minstermen sit 23rd in a table based on home form, but 8th on away. Only Oxford (7) have had fewer different goalscorers than either of these sides (8). Carlisle United v Northampton Town Carlisle have lost just one of their last five home league clashes with Northampton (W1 D3). Northampton have won two and lost just one of their last five games with Carlisle. Northampton have netted 48% of their goals in the final 15 minutes this season (14 of 29). The Cumbrians have conceded a league-high 23 goals in the first half this campaign. Cheltenham Town v Portsmouth Last season in League Two marked the first occasion that Cheltenham and Portsmouth had met. Both games ended as draws, with Cheltenham's home game ending 2-2. Cheltenham have gone 14 games without keeping a clean sheet, longer than any side in League Two this campaign. Pompey have gone eight games without a victory away from home, the longest wait by any League Two side this season (D2 L6). Arthur Koby has scored every 76 minutes for the Robins this season, the best rate of any player in the division with at least three goals. Hartlepool v Oxford United Hartlepool saw two players sent off in their two clashes with Oxford last season. Oxford took all six points off Hartlepool last season, scoring four goals and conceding just one. Hartlepool have collected just one point from their last eight games in League Two. Pools haven't won at home in League Two since the start of September, drawing three and losing four since then. Despite being joint-top scorer in League Two with 10 goals, Danny Hylton hasn't scored in his last four for the U's. Luton v Newport County The Hatters enjoyed a 4-2 victory over Newport in the FA Cup in November. This will be the first ever Football League meeting between these two sides since Newport's reformation in 1989. Luton Town have won each of their last seven league games at Kenilworth Road, conceding just one goal in the process. The Exiles have recorded three straight wins - they haven't won four consecutively since re-joining the Football League in 2013/14. Another win here for the Hatters would set their best home run in the Football League since winning eight in a row in December 1996. Plymouth Argyle v Dagenham and Redbridge Plymouth have won five and lost none of their eight league clashes with Dagenham and Redbridge. Dagenham have enjoyed one victory in 10 matches with Plymouth in all competitions, an FA Cup victory in 2003 (D4 L5). Reuben Reid has played a part in seven of Plymouth's last nine league goals (scoring four, assisting three). The Daggers have squandered 18 points from leading positions this season, more than any other League Two side. The only side to use fewer players this season than the Pilgrims (21) are Wycombe (19). Shrewsbury Town v Morecambe Shrewsbury won the last meeting between these two teams, 1-0 in March 2012. Two of the last three clashes between these sides have featured the winning team getting a player sent off (one red card/victory each). The Shrews have won each of their last five league games at home. The last time they recorded six wins on the spin was in October 2011. Indeed, Shrewsbury have dropped just two points at home all season (W9 D1). Padriag Almond is looking to score in three successive games for Morecambe for the first time. Stevenage v Exeter City The last time these two sides met was in League One in 2011/12. Both games ended in draws during that season. Exeter have won three and lost none of their last seven clashes with Stevenage in all competitions. Stevenage are the only League Two side to have profited from two own goals this season. The Grecians are unbeaten in their last nine league games (W5 D4). They failed to win any of their first seven this season. Exeter have scored in each of their previous 16 league games, the longest run in League Two currently.

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > December 19th & 20th Burton look too big at Southend. They are consistently priced up at big odds away from home to the supposed strong sides of the division but despite their patchy form they are a top side. I like the way Hasselbaink is trying to get them to play with tempo and urgency. They won convincingly at Wycombe at similar odds and no reason they cant do it again at Southend. Southend will have revenge in mind after their playoff defeat to Burton last season. They are themselves are a decent side and should do OK but I dont have them in the same bracket as Burton. They look short on strength in depth and have struggled against the better sides in the division. Im not quite so keen on the +0.25 handicap which looks a bit low to me given the away odds. 2.62 for draw no bet is the one for me but I dont mind risking less on the away win either to be honest. 1 point Burton DNB at 2.62

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > December 19th & 20th I think that the pricing in the Luton makes some sense given where each side are on the table, and Newport have had good results on away. There may be value on both sides. The match odds that have me shaking my head are Morecambe at 7.0 away to Shrews. I'm aware of the home side's great home record, but Morecambe are a quality side also, and have already won at Burton, Southend and Cambridge. I'm thinking that a draw at 4.3 looks like a lot of value and worth a small one.
