Cheltenham 3:15 - Stanjames.com Greatwood Hurdle(HANDICAP) (Grade 3) (1) 2m 110yds Vaniteux heads the betting at 7/2 for the Nicky Henderson yard and although he has to carry the burden of top weight, he sets a very good standard here. The lightly raced French bred five year old proved he was going places when he won a good novice hurdle at Sandown on his debut and he also won a novice hurdle at Doncaster by 12 lengths back in February. When last seen, he finished third behind Vautour in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at the festival which looks serious form and if he is fresh after a break he could be very hard to beat. As I like a bit of value though, I have gone with the progressive looking Roman Flight who has solid course and distance form which can be an advantage at Cheltenham. Re: National Hunt Racing > Sunday November 16th (Greatwood Hurdle) Sunday: 3.15 Cheltenham: Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (2m110yds) Ground looks the key here and originally liked Garde La Victoire but he doesnt perform on soft ground, the same remark applies to Blue Heron who was an impressive winner for the Skelton yard recently. My main pick is going to be Baltimore Rock, he has gone up a lot in the weights but is a very progressive type and loves the soft ground and has won in heavy. He was only 4th last time at Aintree but that was on the back of two handicap wins and this sphere is where he does best. For another selection i fancy Baradari to run a decent race. He was third the other day on his seasonal debut and promised a lot last year as a novice. He ran on well at the Festival to finish 5th in the Fred Winter and has won in heavy ground. Selections: 2pts Baltimore Rock 11/1 BetVictor 1pt Baradari 20/1 Skybet
