dave
:cry How the fcuk do you play this? Just played a $5 STT, thinking I'll pick it up as I go along, but it just confused the hell out of me. Full houses losing to flushes and 3 of a kinds. Do full houses exist in Omaha? Couldn't get my head round it anyway.
Markpl1
Re: omaha Yeah full houses count. The biggest missunderstanding is that only two of your 4 cards play in your hand and it has to be 2. So that might be where your going wrong. Its a great game, more fun than texas hold em (harder tho). I play it with mates quite alot socially. Omaha hi-lo is even more entertaining a real skill game, apparantly there is little luck involved at the top level in this. dave
Re: omaha Yeah, that would be the mistake i was making. What's hi-lo. That confuses me even more when I've seen it.
Markpl1
Re: omaha The pot is split between the high hand and the low hand 50/50. The high hand is the normal winning hand as in normal omaha. The lo hand is more complicated. It is in effect the worst hand in poker value (with straights and flushes ignored) and all the cards have to be 8 or below. The nut lo for example is A2345 as it has no pair and as said straights don't count. If the board is showing 3 cards above 8 the lo is impossible and therefore the hi takes the whole pot. I think this is where playmoney might be a useful teacher.
