bowles10
At this time of year, i tend to look at Pipe horses which have been unfairly handicapped all season & have not performed as in previous years. One of them is MONTREAL in 3.35 at Stratford. Comes back in distance today to 2m 4f & the following are his efforts up to 2m 5f (chases) in his career: 1-2-2-4-U-3-6-1-8-3. His record over longer distances is a bit more varied: 5-4-1-F-4-6-P-F-4-1-1-3-8-6-P-6-P-0 His last 4 wins have come between March & June including a hat trick last year when the ground was quick. This is his lowest mark (123) since winning in May 04 off 120. Went on to win off 130 but has been mainly campaigned over 3m this season with no success. Just went onto Oddschecker & the horse has been backed into 9/1 already from 12's. Trainer factor is that Pipe needs to win as many as poss, & Nicholls does not have an entry in this either.
