220 Redcar - Mehmaas @ 14/1 (widely available) - each way. Likes the course and likes this time of year. His form at Redcar during June and July reads 0,3,1,5,5,2,4. Nothing spectacular admittedly but if you compare those figures to his overall form, it is a marked improvement. He has plummeted to a rating of 44 having finished 2nd in this race last year off a mark of 60. He is of course rated 44 for a reason, namely his recent poor form which is a concern. On the bright side, he ran promisingly last time out in a better race than this one which would suggest that he may be peaking to take a hand in the finish of this race for the 2nd year running. 14/1 is a good each way bet. 330 Brighton - Franksalot @ 100/30 Sporting Odds - each way His form reads 1,1,2 at Brighton. the 2nd place was over todays Course and Distance in his only attempt at 8 furlongs to date. The Racing Post states that he had a nightmare passage during the race and clipped another horses heels whilst making a run. So finishing 2nd after that is actually a decent performance and enough to confirm he should get the trip ok. My only reservation is his rating of 70 having been rated 64 in the above mentioned race. On the bright side he ran well enough off 69 LTO in a higher grade than today. Should be in the frame.
