Crouch Potato
Thomas Pieters @ 50 Betfair Impressive in the Open de Espana (2nd) and followed up with a good showing in the Nordea Masters (14th). Doesn't take a genius to see that this field is very weak and I think Pieters is one of the most talented in the field. He also hits it a long way (over 300 DD this year) which should serve well on a course measuring near on 7500 yards. Adrian Otaegui @ 55 Betfair Another who I think is among the rising talents to hit the tour this year. Hasn't had any standout results but shows signs of promise and think he's a class above in this field.
kevshat
Re: Russian Open > July 24 - July 27 Tournament preview: 1pt ew S.Kjeldsen to win Russian Open 35/1 Betfred (1/4 1-5) One man who is a very straight hitter and who is just coming into a bit of form is Soren Kjeldsen. Kjeldsen has been in the doldrums for a while but he has played well in his last couple of tournaments and should be capable of competing in this field. In the Open de France a few weeks ago he led the field in driving accuracy and was sixth in greens in regulation. If he can repeat that effort from tee to green this week he could be the one to beat. kevshat
Re: Russian Open > July 24 - July 27 Top Englishman preview: 2pts R.Finch Top Englishman 5/1 Ladbrokes Richard Finch was in the top 10 in driving accuracy and the best in the field in greens in regulation on a tough Irish Open track a few weeks ago. That was in amongst a very strong field too which he doesn’t encounter here so if he can swing the golf club the same he is entitled to have another big week in this event. Finch was in the top 20 here last year but looks to be playing better golf coming in this week and at 5/1 he’s a fair bet to be the top Englishman. jackierubberleg
Re: Russian Open > July 24 - July 27 Gutted for you Crouch. That back 9 of Pieter's 3rd round was for after the watershed. So well in there at the turn. Hope he plays with a little more confidence tomorrow. Good Luck
Crouch Potato
Re: Russian Open > July 24 - July 27 Thanks Jackie. Made a real hash of his driving on those Par 5's and sadly can't see him coming from 4 back against two others. Hoping Horsey can win it now as I looked at Whiteford at 200's but just couldn't act knowing he'd missed his last 8 cuts!
jackierubberleg
Re: Russian Open > July 24 - July 27 Yes Crouch, the driving is the thing that tends to go wobbly when the pressure's on. Sympathise with the Whiteford selection. It really sticks in your throat when you pass huge prices like that up. Being a golf punter you'll be well aware of how quickly a good lead can shrink, especially up the stretch on a Sunday. 4 off the lead is by no means out of it. As you stated, the guy has got the talent to stick it on them. GL
