noticed a few wanted more golf ... well here goes MCI Heritage Golf Thomas Levet @ 125/1 Mark Hensby @ 50/1 both had top 10 finishes in the masters & hopefully can continue thier good form into this weeks tournament where none of the big 5 take part. Sporting life have tipped Darren Clarke & Justin Rose (100/1) to win this.

Re: MCI Heritage Golf + Open de Espana Spanish open Ricardo Gonzalez from Argentina was tied second in this last year & then went onto win the Seville open in Spain the following week. He won the Madrid Open in 2003 also & was tied 6th in this event in 2002. Seems to like the spanish courses! He is 50/1 generally & has only played 2 tournaments to date this year. EW bet for me.

Re: MCI Heritage Golf + Open de Espana LAST WEEK: Staked 7.5 pts Returns 0 pts P&L -7.5 pts BANK = 192.5 pts ====================== Spanish Open Certainly not the strongest field in recent years for a Spanish Open, but an open contest nonetheless, with Ladbrokes currently going with three joint favourites at 20/1. It's being played at the Old Course in San Roque for the first time, in what is often referred to as Spain's Golden Triangle of Golf (Valderrama and Sotogrande being the other two courses). A lot of this week’s field will have experience of the venue this week; it was used as the main course for the European Tour Qualifying School from 1995 to 2001 inclusive, and both the old and new courses at San Roque were used as recently as last November when the qualifying school returned to this part of Spain (4 rounds on the old, 2 on the new). The old course has a tightish front nine with tree-lined fairways that open up for the closing holes where water becomes a main feature. The overall philosophy is that while length will certainly be helpful, strategy and the ability to use every club in the bag will be the biggest aid. Charl Schwartzel - We'll side with the young South African again this week. Playing on a tight course in Portugal last time out will certainly have been an education to him, and his 8th place finish was no real disgrace when the tournament really came down to how well (or badly) you played the 17th and 18th. Like Wiratchant in Indonesia we have good odds on a good player. Niclas Fasth - Since his win in New Zealand Fasth has put in an impressive run of results (4-22-16-8). He’ll have very good memories, albeit long ones, of this week’s venue, as he regained his European Tour card back here in 1996 by winning the Qualifying School and had to return in 1999 when he finished second behind Alastair Forsyth. Gary Orr - The Scot finished out of the top 116 on the Order of Merit last season, and is now in the category of players that will find it difficult to get into the bigger tournaments. However, his two performances this year have shown he is more than capable of winning again, with 8th in Malaysia and second last week in Madeira. He did withdraw from the Portuguese Open after ten holes with a bad back that he injured just before starting, but the runner-up last week said he “did the right thing and it's absolutely fine now”. Considering there are players who are finding it difficult to win on tour, he is well worth a small each way bet to add to his two titles he won in 2000. Niclas Fasth 1pt each way 20/1 Ladbrokes, PaddyPower, Sporting Odds, Sportingbet, Betinternet, Victor Chandler Charl Schwartzel 1pt each way 25/1 Ladbrokes, PaddyPower, Sporting Odds, Sportingbet, Betfred, BoyleSports, Stan James, Victor Chandler, Hills Gary Orr 0.5pt each way 100/1 Ladbrokes, Victor Chandler 80/1 Bluesq, PaddyPower, Skybet, Sporting Odds, Sportingbet, Betinternet, Expekt, BoyleSports www.sports-betting.co.uk - Profitable golf betting since 1999
