Re: Ante-Post > League One Promotion 2014/15 Shaun Derry has done a brilliant job at Notts County and I think they may well surprise. Greg Abbot as assistant has been a huge influence as well. They have bought smartly with the likes of Alan Smith coming in. I think they are worth a handicap bet. Team spirit is key at this level and Derry has the players he wants and moved the dead wood from last season out.

Re: Ante-Post > League One Promotion 2014/15 1pt Coventry to be promoted 9/1 BetVictor One side who could well land a big price promotion are Coventry City. I must say I’ve been impressed with Steven Pressley ever since he took the job there. He doesn’t allow the off field nonsense to get in the way of the job he is doing and with their finances improving despite not being at their home I think they’ve put together a more than capable squad. Of course it isn’t ideal that they are playing home games miles away but it didn’t worry them last season when they flew out of the traps to defy their points deduction and a similar start with a stronger squad to cope with injuries and no deductions to worry about could lead to 2015 being a much more positive year for Coventry. Re: Ante-Post > League One Promotion 2014/15 League 1 Outright: Sheffield United United are the biggest club in League 1 and should at the very least be competing for a place in the Premier League, they have had deep runs in the cup(s) over the last two seasons and a very strong finish to last season, still in the drop zone in mid February, they ended the campaign one place shy of the playoffs and played at a level good enough for third place through the last 23 games and which would have earned them a top two place in the previous season. Now, without any cup distractions, it is all about the league , this is a group of players as good as any in the division and after seven goals in two games last week, including three in one half of football away to the runaway league leaders on Saturday, the signs are there that a big push over the next three months is on the cards. I cannot tell you how much the whole club has been lifted, by not just the win over Bristol City , but the level of performance, confidence levels are through the roof, if they can register one or two more wins right now, this very big juggernaught is going to be very difficult to turn back. If they could win their two games in hand, they would be just six adrift of an automatic promotion spot and with Swindon , MKD and Preston showing signs of flagging (and all three have blown promotion from this league in recent seasons) and set to play each other, or leaders City, multi times before the end of this season , there are going to be nerves and points dropped by one, two or all three. United have 18 matches left to play and do not play a team currently above them in the table, they have ten starts against the bottom ten and meet clubs with an average league placing of 15th, that looks far and away the "easiest" schedule of any team with promotion expectations and if those 18 matches were played today, they would be favourite in at least 17 of them ! This is a very good opportunity to push on , they do not do many draws and looking at previous seasons, last year was an exception as Brentford and Wolves were a class above the rest, circa 82 points, maybe even less, might be enough for 2nd place. That is around 12 wins and far from impossible given their schedule, it allows for six "slip ups" in matches where they are favoured, last year they went from 6-8-13 on February 1st to 16-11-15 in mid April, something close is likely to get them a top two place and their schedule was far harder and more crammed last time round. The club and supporters are delirious with the signing of Matt Done from Rochdale in the transfer window and he has hit the ground running with three goals in two starts and is viewed as the piece of business which might just get them over the line. My thinking is that they look very solid for a top six finish, other teams will take points off each other and they are starting to build momentum, they have performed really well in cup ties and that experience and the size of the club (they could take 50,000 + to Wembley) would serve them well in the post season and they would surely be favourites in the post season, circa 3.25, we can bet them now at 4.0, hoping that take the automatic spot, but fairly safe in the knowledge that they will finish top six and we would have good value in the playoffs as a fall back. This makes this quote look really good value. 3 units Sheffield United to gain promotion 4.0 general quote

Re: Ante-Post > League One Promotion 2014/15 I recommend the following bets: Doncaster 20-1,Peterboro 20-1, Chesterfield 25-1,Barnsley 25-1 for promotion. I would bet a bit more on Donny than Posh and a bit less on the other two. Reasoning.I don't do reasoning. Oh alright then. Whoever gets the 6th playoff spot I'd fancy to be on at least equal terms with Swindon or MK Dons especially Donny or a much recently improved Posh. But apart from that there is a chance ,I rate it as 24%, that Blades will miss out altogether. In which case you will be laughing like an idiot watching You've Been Framed after drinking 4 pints of Stella. You may have noticed that I havnt mentioned the bantams. That's cos I bet the bloody bantams some time ago ( is thst aftertiming!!?? I'm not sure cos I'm explaining why they aren't gonna be top 6 and I find rules so constricting/confusing) and they ******* keep winning bloody Mickey Mouse cup games( tautology or what!?) and thus putting their promotion hopes ( not to mention my hopes of a massive accumulator coming in )up the swannee. *******!!!! Thats why. oh yes edited to add that these bets should also provide you with a lot of interest and entertainment ( from Gillette Soccer Saturday ) to boot. I think that bets that provide a lot of entertainment are intrinsically good bets. After all what are you hoping to spend gambling winnings on if not entertainment?Bills? Charity? Your pension fund? Ha (edited again to apologise for all the swearing.I havnt edited them cos I m not sure if the use of * to swear is against the rules.I imagine it is.Either that or you are all incredibly mellow people on here)

Re: Ante-Post > League One Promotion 2014/15 i was looking at odds for this recently and put Peterborough in my end of season accumulator but was just to get top into the play offs at 3-1. Odds for that aren't great now at 13/8, but if you fancy Doncaster (8-1) and Barnsley (11/2) to get top 6 and you could double it up with most going on top 6 and a percentage on win the play offs Doncaster 50/1 and Barnsley 33/1, if they both go on a good run a small possibility they both could get in although very unlikely.
