Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Tournament preview: 1pt ew S.Maguire to win German Masters 20/1 Boylesports (1/2 1-2) Stephen Maguire and Neil Robertson are probably the two biggest names in the bottom half now and in the better form and I like the former here. Maguire made it all the way to the semi finals of The Masters before he ran into Ronnie in unbeatable mode. In the round before he thrashed Robertson so that bodes well for the Scot. He’s won a Championship League group since then and looks to be cueing lovely. The Shootout didn’t go his way but he can be forgiven for that as that’s a lottery. This isn’t and at 20/1 Maguire looks ready to win again to me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/german-masters-betting-stephen-maguire-can-land-another-major-title-out-in-berlin

Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Quarter previews: 1pt R.Day to win 1st Quarter 7/1 Paddy Power Ryan Day is a player who is capable of taking anyone to the cleaners and the fact he’ll be playing every day and sometimes twice a day will probably suit him. Few players in the game score as heavily as he does when he gets going and that will help this week particularly if it means he can win a match or two quickly. This is a little bit of a stamina contest in the early days of the event but having clearly found some confidence in Blackpool over the weekend Day could be the man to come through this section. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/german-masters-betting-ryan-day-can-use-his-confidence-from-the-weekend-to-go-well-in-germany 1pt M.Holt to win 4th Quarter 10/1 Paddy Power That man could be Michael Holt. Holt is getting better and better year on year and he has already made the semi finals of the Shanghai Masters this season so he can win major quarter finals now. He has landed himself with a lovely early draw in this tournament and seems to be someone who enjoys the travelling and atmosphere this tournament brings. I think he should make the quarter final given the draw and whoever he plays in it he won’t be a 10/1 shot so he’s my call in the bottom quarter. Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Good Luck Outright Ali Carter Each Way @ 25-1 [Ladbrokes] Though not involved in the final stages last week, showed enough to suggest is in good nick, and is the defending champion here, also I like the make up of his top half of the draw

Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Wednesday TV previews: 3pts A.Carter (-2.5 frames) to beat D.Poomjaeng Evs Bet365 We saw in the World Championship that Poomjaeng is a talented player but we saw last month in the UK Championship that he can struggle when he’s in with the big names. Carter at his best is one of those big names and I think he’ll come through this relatively unscathed. Poomjaeng didn’t win a frame against Trump in the UK Championship and if he doesn’t score heavily here he may not win more than a couple in this one. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/carter-vs-poomjaeng-betting-ali-carter-can-cruise-into-the-second-round-in-berlin 4pts M.Selby (-2.5 frames) to beat J.Robertson 8/11 Coral It would be a big surprise if Mark Selby doesn’t win this match, the only question is whether he is taken the distance or if he wins it well. I think with the nature of the event he’ll be looking to win it well. He has a 10-1 win over Robertson at the Crucible and a 4-0 win over him in a PTC event so the chances on him winning 5-2 or better here have to be pretty good. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/j-robertson-vs-selby-betting-mark-selby-can-ease-into-the-second-round 3pts N.Robertson (-3.5 frames) to beat L.Chuang 5/4 Bet365 It is hard to make a case for Chuang in this match. In fact it is hard to make a case for him winning more than a frame with the scoring power Neil Robertson has these days. Chuang has struggled all season while Robertson seems to be going from strength to strength. He missed the Shootout at the weekend so he should have no logistical problems and so I would expect the Aussie to win this one fairly comfortably. Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Thursday TV previews: 4pts J.Trump (-2.5 frames) to beat N.Saengkham 8/11 Coral I don’t fancy Trump to have the best week of his career here but this is a tournament that if you can get some form early you can do some damage because it is done and dusted in four days. One thing I think Trump will be keen to do is get this over with as quickly as possible as he faces another game later in the day should he win. Even without that motivation I don’t see Trump conceding more than a couple of frames. With it I certainly don’t. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/trump-vs-saengkham-betting-judd-trump-should-have-few-problems-in-berlin-opener 3pts M.Williams to beat D.Junhui 7/4 Bet365 Ding has certainly shown enough signs in the last tournament or two to suggest the edge has just come off his game and Mark Williams can take advantage of that. He knows his way around the 12x6 green baize and has made a career feeding off scraps that he is given. I think he’ll be well up for this and at 7/4 he could pull off a bit of a surprise in the tie of the second round. Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Friday previews: 4pts J.Trump (-1.5 frames) to beat S.Murphy 11/10 Ladbrokes I don’t think Murphy is scoring heavily enough to win this match. You can’t give Trump two or three chances a frame in this mood because he will take one of them. Murphy is lucky to still be in this tournament but I think his run comes to an end here. Trump looks to have his mojo back and he’ll take some stopping this week. I’m not sure he’ll be stopped here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/trump-vs-murphy-betting-judd-trump-can-see-off-murphy-in-pick-of-the-last-16-matches 4pts T.Pengfei to beat R.Lawler 8/11 Boylesports We’ve already seen this tournament become a bit of a stamina contest and it is no surprise it is opening right up. If this is a stamina contest then you’ve got to fancy Pengfei. Not only has he just pulled off the result of his life which should see his confidence soar sky high but he did it quickly so won’t be too tired. Lawler battled for over six hours in his win over Davison so tiredness could be an issue which is why I like Tian here. Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Trump J. - Murphy S. (Murphy +1,5) 3/10 @1,8 bet365 Sorry man, I am against you. This is match between two best longpotters on circuit. Judd plays well and Murphy has bit of lucky now after turning match against Stevens. But his opponents was stronger and more known than Trump. I think Murphy can earn some frames and make match settled, or Trump can totaly explode like Robertson or Selby yesterday. Hamilton A. - Day R. Day ML 3/10 @1,67 WH Ryan after break is now in good shape. He reached play off at last two groups of Champs League. In finals was defeated by Trump and then semifinals 3:2 lost against Maguire. He plays good at shoot-out where Day knock-out Steve Davis, M. White, King, Maflin and has lost against champion Dale. Holt M. - McManus A. over 7,5 4/10 @1,73 WH This would be absolutly balanced match. Holt has again lucky draw like in Shanghai and McManus isnt hard to beat. But Allan is experienced, beated two hard english players Ebdon and Lisowski. On shoot-out he won against Doherty and Guodong. In H2H won both players 3 times. Over is good choice.

Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Semi final previews: 4pts R.Day vs D.Junhui - Over 9.5 frames 11/8 Coral Both these guys have come through the draw nicely enough so far so both are playing well and this should be a good semi final. Ryan Day actually has a decent record against Ding Junhui so he won’t fear his Chinese opponent and that is something else which should make for a good semi final. Ding is looking very good at the minute but Day is scoring when the chances come his way and so this one could just have more than 9.5 frames in it. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/day-vs-ding-betting-opening-semi-final-in-berlin-could-be-closer-than-it-looks-on-paper 4pts R.Lawler vs J.Trump - Under 8.5 frames Evs Coral I think Lawler is going to need something of a career best just to get close here. Judd looks back to his best this week. His long potting is good again which will put pressure on Lawler’s safety. Admittedly Lawler’s tactical game can stand up to it and his slow pace could frustrate Trump but I just think Trump’s above all that now and over a best of 11 I expect the youngster to win with plenty in hand. Re: German Masters 29 Jan - 2 Feb Cheers mate :ok. Final preview: 4pts J.Trump to beat D.Junhui 10/11 Betfred Judd Trump has been fantastic this week and I think he’ll come through this final. To only lose four frames in a tournament of this quality is amazing and he is banging in big breaks and looks back to his best. Of course Ding Junhui is no mug but when push comes to shove I think Trump is just a little more on top of his game this week and I will take him to land his first title of the season.
