3.10 Wolverhampton Auden won a selling handicap on the fibresand last time out landing a gamble, this demands a lot more off top weight under a 6lb penalty, not always been a reliable sort neither. Time Square has badly been out of sorts on last 2 runs and makes no interest. Same can be said for Final Delivery and Scamperdale both operating well below their best at present. Taxiformissbyron has been running consistent lately but didn’t shape as a winner last time out and never won off a mark this high. Derfenna Art has been undone by the draw again as he was last time out, also having to run off a 2lb higher mark. Eco Warrior is interesting as the least exposed having had just the 3 maiden runs, improving last time out over this course over the shorter of todays trip and will appreciate the further step up in trip but may need further yet, and winner did no favours to the form last time out neither. Berkeley Street looked on the upgrade when winning 3 starts back but has gone completely thr wrong way quickly, easy to forgive run last time out on fibresand but even so has to bounce back, positives are that he is quickly dropped down the handicap back to just 2lb above winning mark and Kirby in saddle. Shirazz is lightly raced for a 5 yr old and has won over CD 3 starts back, and only just held stepped up in trip last time out, 3lb higher today makes things tougher again but will appreciate the return to shorter. Minstrel Lad looked desperately unlucky last time out over similar trip at Kempton hampered twice on the run in, raised a 1lb for that. That came on the back of a win over CD in a classified event and clearly in good form at present, and well drawn again today. 2pt Minstrel Lad 6/1 bet365 3.40 Wolverhampton This is not gonna take much winning most of these are poor or in dreadful form. Layla’s Boy has ability but is a lazy racer and 1 win from 49 starts tells its own story and at 7/2 is a pathetic price and Kirby will have his work cut out especially if he isn’t on a going day. Ice Tres has ran 2 good races on the AW since coming back from a break, he does look a little one paced and still searching for first win. Impeccability ran a better race last time out over CD, that did appear a little bit out of knowhere so needs to back that up and that form certainly not a solid piece. Agapanthus has to be of interest having returned from a lengthy absence over hurdles recently putting in 2 good efforts in poor races but this isn’t much better and has dropped to a very dangerous mark back on the flat. He landed a gamble for the Curley yard off a mark of 63 before backing that up again off 71. Queally also back in the saddle and it would be no surprise to see a big run from him off a mark of just 46. 2pt win Agapanthus 6/1 pp
