1.25 Southwell Shawkantango got back to winning ways on penultimate start, but disappointing back off a 6lb higher mark, he does have his quirks and if bouncing back is more than capable on this surface. Monnoyer respectable effort last time out over 6f should be in the mix again. Quality Art won over CD very narrowly last time out he doesn’t look the obvious sort to follow up and looks plenty short enough. Solarmaite is very useful on this surface but this trip looks on the short side. Simply going through the motions on polytrack and turf since last run here in August. Angelo Poliziano looks the safest option having bounced back to form last time out in this grade when running out of petrol over 6f, this drop back to 5f looks a positive with all 8 wins coming over 5f. Latest 2 runs have been on this surface and has shown a clear liking for it and has been put into this claimer with a real chance at the weights. 2pt win Angelo Poliziano 11/4 PP 3.00 Southwell Izzy Boy looks to have it all to do from a 4lb higher mark and a further step up in trip. Clearly goes on this surface and is improving but was all out last time over 7f around here will need to find more. Xpres Maite does go on this surface but this trip looks far too short despite running well over this CD last time out but did shape again as in need of further. Bapak Pesta ran well in a classified stakes over 7f around here didn’t shape as needing an immediate step up in trip but if seeing the trip out he would be very dangerous. Mataajir could well be the answer to a small but tricky race, Southwell specialist who has now dropped to 2lb below last winning mark and has slowly been working his way back to form with the visor on should go well here again. 2pt win Mataajir 7/2 PP 4.55 Wolverhampton This is a very weak race with many of these having something to prove at present. Boy The Bell is a regular over the winter period and doesn’t have a bad strike rate for the grade but he hasn’t shown much of late although yard have had 2 very good runs recently so could bounce back now. Amis Reunis ran a better race last time out but has gone nearly a year without a win and will need to show a bit more to be winning. Hamis Al Bin is an interesting runner having run quite well last time out when not getting a clear run over CD, Adam Kirby is an obvious strong booking and would be no surprise to see him go well tonight if the gaps appear. Lucky Mark bounced back to form last time out over 5f at Southwell, not always reliable but will appreciate the return to polytrack with both his 2 wins coming on this surface and off higher marks. Major Muscari has become frustrating often finding one or two too good recently should run his race again but looks a short price given his nature. Interchoice Star looks a huge price, lightly raced in recent times but showed better signs last 2 times out over this course. Not beaten far and on a very dangerous mark some 14lb below last winning mark and looks too bigger price to ignore. 1pt e/w Interchoice Star 20/1 coral 6.55 Wolverhampton Most of these are not in any form at all. Waving is 11lb below last winning mark but has struggle to find any form recently despite return to this CD something to prove. Underwritten has shown nothing recently and makes no interest. Geeaitch showed something at Kempton over this trip but struggled to land a blow last time out on this surface over CD needs to bounce back but possibly didn’t handle this surface at present. The bottom 3 are all very poor and make no interest at all. India’s Song is the least exposed of this field, and showed good form when 4^th last time out over this trip at Lingfield when slightly hampered and not beaten far can expect him to build on that off same mark. This Is Me is worth a second chance for me he bolted clear at Kempton over this trip, didn’t look at home on fibresand for a 2^nd time last time out and easily excused that effort and could easily bounce back return to polytrack and looks unexposed over these conditions. 2pt win This Is Me 5/2 coral
