Jump Racing Friday 4th October

Recommended Posts

3.45 Gowran Jennies Jewel 11/10 Paddy Power BOG Jennies Jewel won on heavy last year at Naas beating Upazo and finished 2nd to the Glens Melody and Bright New Dawn and 3rd to Annie Power. She finished 3rd to Caim Hill on the flat at Listowel which should have blown away the cobwebs. Cailin Annamh has been doing well this summer in run of the mill mares races on fast ground but has yet to show how she will cope with the softer terrain. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull her out. Whether they do or not, Jennies Jewel looks a winner bar a fall. 10 Points win Jennies Jewel 11/10 Paddy Power BOG 1 other to consider strongly for tomorrow... 2.40 Fontwell Virginia Ash who makes her debut over fences at Fontwell tomorrow and who has raced in much higher grades over hurdles. She will love the rain softened ground and the stable is flying. Kings Lodge is disappointing and should be avoided. The danger looks to be Bracken House. I think Virginia Ash is the best horse in the race. the 5.30 looks a high class afair with Billy No Name given a very slight edge on the basis of his stable form who finished 2nd in his last 2 outings last season. However Kaki De La Pree was highly regarded when with Henderson and Kings Palace from the Pipe stable looks a serious horse and throughout the season will probably prove to be the best of the trio. A race to watch only.

Re: Jump Racing Friday 4th October Trainer Mr B.Powell has some nice looking runners over the next few days and sends out three today for Fontwell Park. His 3yr old chestnut gelding ran a good race last time out but did make a few daft mistakes, he was running over the flat last year and ran three times over the flat this year winning once, still just a big baby and been off the course just over 30 days now, he will have been polished up with his jumping at base camp and looks sure to go close in this Class 4 maiden hurdle, he's never been this far and its difficult guessing if he'l get the trip, does have an entry for next week at Ludlow over 2m, but that looks a back up plan for Mr Powell but today looks the camps first choice. Ground should suit and jockey gets leg up only for the second time, the J.Snowden runner looks a very obvious Danger. 2:10 Fontwell Pk - Instinctual
