Ayr Gold Cup advice please.

I'm travelling to the Ayr Gold Cup on saturday from the NW,about a 220 mile trip. Can anyone recommend some hotels/BBs in that region. Also a nice restaurant. Might head to Glasgow to play some poker afterwards, any tips anyone? Also, it's been many years since I've been to Ayr, what's the car park situation like?

Ayr is my local track i live not far from it and have have been many times, car park is a bit rough so take it slow or you will lose a wheel, security etc is all good. You might be hard pushed getting a hotel as the Gold cup is the peak of the season for them, Ayr town centre is one way and you might get something near the local sheriff court house, this is not far off the sea front but again it will be busy, or a road called ''Racecourse Road'' has lots of places but again they could be booked up because of the racing, its hit or miss. Am sure if you ask someone local around the town centre after the racing they would give you some pointers on a nice restaurant, the Savoy is on Racecourse Road and does a nice meal. If you go into Glasgow for some poker your heading for the M77 then M8 take that right into the city centre, nice casino on the clyde side called The Riverboat Casino it also does very nice food, someone needs to sign you in but will not be any problem, am sure anyone heading in will be more than happy to help you.
