Flat Racing Tuesday 10th Sep 2013

Trainer M.Johnston looks a busy man over the next few days and one that has been a wee bit frustrating is his 3yr old chestnut filly in the last on the card at Beverley, she won on her second attempt but has been disappointing since but am going to have one more attempt with her as Mr Johnston can at times work wonders. She was 7th home from 9 runners last time out at Musselburgh and looked like she hated the place, ''could have been a ground thing'' - jockey J.Fanning gets the leg up for the third time, and he's the only pilot that's had a win from her, interesting move he gets the call up again. She also has an entry for 14th Sep at Kempton running over 1m 2f so today's mile should be perfectly within her grasp, even though her only win has been over the 7' Danger - could come from the B.Ellison 5yr old - Silly Billy. 7:10 Beverley - Snap Music. E/w Bet.

Re: Flat Racing Tuesday 10th Sep 2013 14:50 Leicester 7f 9yds Class 3 Nanpanton Handicap Selection: Talented Kid – 9/5 SportingBet Talented Kid may have the least racecourse experience amongst the 7 runners set to go to post for this race, but after winning well on his flat debut at Windsor over a mile he should be able to step up from that race and make it two from two here. Prior to joining Mark Johnston's stable he was with John Ferguson and tried in three national hunt flat races, finishing 8th on debut and then being placed in his next two starts. The best effort of those three coming at Fakenham over 2 miles in a Class 6 event where he was sent off the 11/8 favourite. For those favourite backers, 3 furlongs from home it looked as though they would be collecting when Talented Kid eased into contention under Tony McCoy, however he didn't find much when asked to quicken and he eventually finished 4 1/2 lengths behind Kettlewell. He made his return to the racecourse last month for his flat racing debut at Windsor in a Class 5 event over a 1 mile 67 yards. After being in touch of the leaders for much of the race, the selection made good headway to take 2nd and then eased into the lead just over 2 furlongs from the finish. Staying on well towards the finish, Adam Kirby was on board and didn't have to get too serious to push him clear and eased him down as they approached the line, scoring by 3 lengths to Vanity Rules back in 2nd, a horse who was 6th in the Fillies Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket earlier this year. For his handicap debut, Talented Kid has been given a mark of 87 which looks fair and he's open to further improvement in better company here. Albaqaa won over a mile at this course last time out and also wasn't disgraced when finishing 5th of 11 prior to that race over 7f at Newmarket in a Class 2 race, finishing 4 lengths behind the winner, Gabriel's Lad. He's been raised 3lb following his recent win but could still be involved at the finish with the selection.
