Flat/Jumps Transition

I have to admit I am usually a bigger flat racing fan but I have had a tough time of it this year on the flat and I am really looking for the jumps to kick in properly. I think it's been hard going on the flat this year (well it has been for me) and there hasn't really been much excitement surrounding racing over the summer. There has been the odd excellent race but for me it's been pretty poor. A couple of things left in the flat season for me to look forward to are Flintshire running in the Arc and Hydrogen hopefully making his debut in the next couple of weeks. I think Flintshire has a massive chance in the Arc and I do believe Andre Fabre has gone on record as saying this is one of the best horses he has ever trained. The Arc could be a cracker this year and although I would love to see Orfevre win the race, I have already backed Flintshire so fingers crossed he can do the business. As for Hydrogen, I have this one in a couple of ante-post wagers (To win a group 1 this year at 8/1 and to win the Derby next year at 50/1). It's a slight worry that he picked up a leg injury earlier in the season, which is delayed his debut but I believe connections feel the work he was showing prior this injury was that of a special horse. Only time will tell but hopefully we will see him soon. We are yet to see a hyped horse for next years Derby...maybe Hydrogen could be the one.

Re: Flat/Jumps Transition Jumps cant come quick enough, another month and we will be ok! Going to do my ratings this season with the help of Raceform to do all of my workings out as i dont have the time nowadays to do it manually. Not sure about my staking and strategy as yet, working on that over the next three weeks. I'm going to Newmarket open day on the 22nd Sept, hoping to see Snow Fairy before she goes off to Ireland and the paddocks, that is the only thing in my notebook left for the flat season. Will be going to the Charlie Hall at Wetherby and the Hennessy is a possibility as Denman maybe be parading although that is not certain yet. A few trips to Cheltenham, Trails day in Jan and one other before the Festival and might go 2 days again but not both together this time, possibly Tues/Fri depending on if Tidal Bay is running or not. Would like to go to Aintree when they are jumping the National fences but not the National. Its one photo i have yet to get but cant cope with the crowd in April. :ok
