Re: England > Weekend > Skrill North & South 7 Sept Solihull Moors away at Stalybridge Celtic (17/10 Marathon) Unbeaten Solihull were one of my EW antepost plays and they've started the season in organised fashion, unbeaten and with a decent away win at Guiseley and a solid draw at Telford. They have an impressively points-gathering air about them, and Staly could be in for a tough afternoon. As in recent seasons, Staly are a young side with some good approach play, and they will cause problems, but they've looked uncomfortable at home in the 2-2 with BPA and the loss to Hednesford. Solihull have the weapons to score and hold on, and at this price they are value. Eastleigh at home to Bromley (10/11 Corals) Top marks to Bromley for their very positive start but they've struggled in the last two - a loss at Bishop's Stortford and a narrow win at home to Gosport. This will be a real test for them - Eastleigh have had a couple of ropey showings so far, though they have been missing some key bodies (Chris Todd is probably out for this one, and maybe Glen Southam too), but even so in every department they look more than a match for their visitors. AFC Telford at home to Harrogate Town (Evs Paddy Power) There appear to be two Telfords at the moment - the one that starts the game and the one that emerges for the second half after Liam Watson has had a good shout at them. To be fair they are still getting used to each other, and they scheduled in a friendly this week against Airbus to give some pitch minutes to the likes of Sean Cooke. Alan Moogan is out, but there is quality all over the pitch. Harrogate have shown every sign of being a competitive outfit this season, and with Chris Hall and Ashley Worsfold in decent form they can upset a home defence that is still bedding in, but you can't read too much into the Stockport result, they were flattered by the big win over Ferriby, and they are the only side to be beaten by Barrow thus far. Telford haven't been impressive but they have more to give, though there is a fingers-crossed element to this play.

Re: England > Weekend > Skrill North & South 7 Sept Barrow v Gloucester City Barrow have found live pretty tough back in the Skrill North so far with only four points to their name. Performances haven’t been great and Gloucester look more than capable of picking up three points from their long trip. Gloucester have performed with great credit so far this season and could quite easily have picked up a few more points than they have. 21/10 with BetVictor looks a big price about a team in better form than their hosts. Histon v Workington I wrote last week how I thought Histon were going to be much better at home than there were away this season, but they went and got a cracking point up at Altrincham. They have won both home games so far and I reckon they can make it three against Workington. Histon are a young side, which is why I thought they might struggle on the road, but they have some talented footballers in the squad and they have been performing really well so far. Workington got their first win of the season on Saturday against Stalybridge, but having lost both away games and with having such a long way to travel I think they will struggle against an in form Histon. BetVictor’s 6/5 is just enough to tempt me to get involved. Guiseley v Brackley I have opposed Guiseley twice now and have not collected, but I hope it going to be third time lucky on Saturday. Guiseley managed to pick up a point against Gloucester on Saturday, but Brackley should be a stronger proposition. Nothing has suggested to me that Guiseley are going to be up their challenging at the end of the season, but I think Brackley are still strong enough to get into the play-offs again and look a fair price at 19/10 with BetVictor to make it three from three on their travels. Whitehawk v Basingstoke Into the Skrill South for the final bet of the weekend and I am opposing Whitehawk. The home side were one of my ante-post tips before the start of the season, but they have been very disappointing so far, bar hammering a really poor Dorchester side. It is hard to know exactly what has gone wrong there so far this with Whitehawk given they look to have a decent squad on paper. I still think they will click at some point, but they host a Basingstoke side that are currently second in the league and have started the season very strongly. If the two teams continue in the same vein of form that they have been in then it will be an away win and I am happy to get involved at 5/4 with Paddy Power.
