No whips to be used in this race but are carried, trainer Mr R.Hannon has one in the race but i do like the Eve Johnston trained horse, owned by Eden racing club so its another i would be taking the price on in case connections are confident of a very bold show. The 3yr old gelding was 3rd last time out running off 9-6 Ffos las over the 6f, he wasn't disgraced that day and he is given another chance taking into account he's yet to get a win under his belt from 7 starts. Thses races can be strange so id not be lumping on with the utility bill money, well not BOTH gas & elec, its not the best race of the day but you could find worse, its Eve's only runner on the card and its the geldings first visit to the track, trip should be fine and runs off a very attractive weight 5pm Salisbury - New Rich. ​Win Bet!

Re: Flat Racing Wed 14th Aug 2013 20:25 Gowran Park 1m 1f 100yds Irish Stallion Farms E B F Fillies Maiden Selection: Calibrate The Dermot Weld trained filly Calibrate made her debut at the Galway Festival when finishing 4th of 5 in the Guinness E.B.F. Maiden over 1m 4f. Ahead of her that day was Roman Romance who finished 9 lengths clear of the selection in that race and she also takes her chance in this race for John Oxx. Despite finishing 9 lengths clear, Calibrate seemed to be travelling better of the two for much of the race and the drop back in distance to 1m 1f should be much more suited by the filly. The ground at Galway was also Heavy which may not have helped Calibrate’s chances and the quicker surface expected at Gowran Park is also likely to help. Aidan O’ Brien has A Star Is Born in this race and although she improved on her debut effort last time out at Naas, I’m not convinced that the extra furlong will help her chances here. Snow Scene who is open to further improvement and this race looks easier than her previous races and looks a good each way proposition at a bigger price. For the winner though, I return to Calibrate who looks to have everything going for her and it can be another winner for the Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen partnership.

Re: Flat Racing Wed 14th Aug 2013 21:15 Kempton Park 7f Class 5 Betdaq 1st UK Race Commission Free Handicap Selection: Sheikh The Reins Each Way Sheikh The Reins looks overpriced in the last race on Kempton Park’s card and he is the each way selection. His strike rate of 2 wins in 18 starts may not be the most impressive on paper but both wins have come over course and distance, with the latest of those coming last month when he finished 2 lengths clear of Welsh Inlet on a mark of 67. Following that race he was disappointing at Sandown Park last time out back on turf, finishing last of the 10 runners but he was drawn wide and returning to Kempton Park’s all weather surface, drawn in stall one will be more suitable and he should be there or thereabouts at the finish.
