BillyHills
Visited Cartmel for the first time on Saturday, strange little place. Travel down a single road track for 3 miles and all of a sudden your in the middle of a racecourse! Anyway, packed out and too hot but apart from that it was really enjoyable, skipped the last race to avoid the inevitable chaos of getting out the place and didnt back a winner! Took a few photos, not as many as normal as you couldnt get near the action because of the crowds. Cartmel Straight Jason Maguire on Mr Satco going to the start Mr Satco storming home by 11 lengths The battle for second place Special cooling fans for the horses Mr Maguire Mr McCain Action from the 2.45, over the dried up water jump Nicky Tam gets up on the line at 33/1 The 3.20, first circuit Cruchain after his win Civil Unrest Ballybough Gorta and Jamie Moore leads Themilanhorse and Ryan Mahon Ballybough Gorta after a wash down (was dismounted after the line and and looked cooked after a forceful ride from Mr Moore) Mr Moore

Primevil
Re: Cartmel Photos Yep...Im sure I went to the bank holiday meeting in august...exactly how you describe getting in and getting out...Picnics everywere in the middle....My advice would be get your bets online...don't battle the bookies area, and the terms are awful, if your ever plan to go...Thanks again Billy. Getting in and out was easy aswell, it is a 5 minute walk from the village, took us no time to get in and out and it was jammed. The picnics were very annoying, it was as if 75% of the crowd were there to sit down and eat sambo's, and they were blocking the entire railing so proper fans couldnt get to see the races

Still got the old one just in case but its different class, technology moves on. They didnt cost much difference when new either. Suppose its down to the lens too. Too many people there to get a any decent views, more like a picnic park than a race meeting but something worth doing once despite the 3 1/2 hr drive. Thanks for the comments everyone, appreciated:ok
