EAGLE FARM RACE 8 @ 3:40pm AEST: The AAMI Stradbroke is a 1400m Group 1 Handicap for 3 year olds and upwards where the 5.0 favourite with Bet365 is YOUR SONG. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Interesting speed map. The speed will depend on if two of the emergencies gain a start. BUFFERING almost certainly leads from CONSERVATORIUM and CELTIC DANCER who are 2^nd and 4^th emergencies respectively. FONTELINA led and won last start, this was out of character but I don’t think they will want to waste the barrier so he will be forward in the run once again. BELLTONE, HOT SNITZEL, SPIRIT SONG, YOUR SONG and DECISION TIME are all capable of settling handy. The rest of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where all runners should get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: YOUR SONG was absolutely outstanding in the BTC Cup first up after trialling brilliantly. He stalked the pace and when asked to sprint in the straight he put lengths on the strong Group 1 field in a blink of an eye to run away for a 5 length victory. This was raced on what seems his favoured surface of Heavy, so the margin may have been slightly flattering but he was still ultra impressive. He then stepped up in distance, drew barrier 15 and raced on a dry surface in the Doomben 10,000. He was ridden ultra aggressively out of the gates and became locked in a speed battle with tough campaigner BUFFERING and came off second best. The ride was questionable to say the least and to finish 4.0L from eventual winner EPAULETTE who enjoyed a much softer run was a brave effort. He drops nicely to 54kgs today, gains the services of regular rider Peter Robl and will get a much softer run from the barrier.

EAGLE FARM RACE 2 @ 12:00pm AEST: The XXXX Gold Strawberry Road Handicap is a Listed Race for 3 year olds and upwards where the 3.5 favourite with Bet365 is TRANSPORTER. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: 3 genuine on pacers will ensure the speed is good. PELLEGRINI and LISTEN SON will fight out the lead. TRANSPORTER will sit just off them and should enjoy a cosy run. TOMAMAK, DIANDME and WHITE SAILS next in line while the remainder of the field settles midfield or beyond in a race where all runners will get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: TRANSPORTER has been a model of consistency this preparation running in the top 3 in his last 5 starts. His last two starts have been Group 2 and 3 Weight For Age affairs where he has been equally as gritty in both. After winning two in a row he stepped up to the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes where he settled on the pace and looked all over the winner before being swamped by two Group 1 winners in Lights Of Heaven and Foreteller. He then went toe to toe with another Group 1 winner in the Mayors Cup when he was narrowly beaten by Solzhenitsyn who contests the Stradbroke a few races later. He drops nicely in grade here today and looks likely to get the run of the race behind the two front runners LISTEN SON and PELLEGRINI.
