Jump Racing ~ Sunday 19th May

Recommended Posts

3.20 Stratford: Stratford Caravans.co.uk Handicap Chase (Class 2) (2m4f) Terrific little handicap for a Sunday and lots of if’s and but’s surrounding the front two in the market. Woolcombe Folly is turned out quickly after last weeks second at Worcester and steps up in trip; he’s not proven at 2m4f and had a hard race then. Pepite Rose is becoming frustrating and had no excuses last time at Market Rasen and was travelling well turning for home and found nothing off the bridle. My selection is Galway Jack, he ran well at Huntingdon until weakening over the last and that was a very good race with Triolo D’Alene beating Junior and Billie Magern who has bolted up since. He should get a soft enough lead and around here that can count for a lot. One at a big price that may run well is Mahogany Blaze, a smooth traveller that makes too many errors but if he’s in the mood has enough ability to figure here. Selections: 2pts Galway Jack 13/2

Re: Jump Racing ~ Sunday 19th May 2.30 Market Rasen - 2pts win Tracking Time @ 12/1 (Bet365) Looks overpriced here in a race where a couple are the opposite in my opinion. I was expecting him to be around 7 or 8/1 so is well worth an interest today so long as he's fit and well. Wasn't disgraced in four bumpers but ultimately wasn't good enough to win one (the second he ran in was very strong) but has improved since going over hurdles and was an eyecatching 4th on his debut in that sphere. He lost his place before coming home well to be beaten 9 lengths in a race which wasn't that bad. Naturally would be expected to come on for that experience and did run a good 5th over 2m5f in a better race. The winner and runner-up are now rated 135 and 134 respectively so he can't have been expected to finish much closer than he did in reality. He can take a keen hold so the step back in trip if holding his position can help. Hopefully they don't dawdle as that will help as well. Unseated at the 5th last time out but was quite nicely fancied - sent off at 7/2 - and now goes handicapping off 108. This will give him the best chance of success and the ease in the ground can suit. Can outrun his odds.
