Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May How could someone not play Bolton to win against Blackpool together with Watford to win against Leeds ? In Italy, where I live, at the end of the season, if there are games like the above mentioned ones, no bookmaker will allow you to bet on these games due to the fact that the involved teams concord aa economical agreement "off the book"... Don't such things happen in UK as well, or will we assist Blackpool and Leeds spitting blood?

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Im gonna take Bolton and Watford in a double too, last match and both need a win really. Their opponents are safe in the league and I don't think they want to put much energy in this match. Mostly those players are focussed on what happens next season, vacation etc.

http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/article/championship-celebrations-timeline-802672.aspx Hull The most motivated team in the round. All guests have already thought about champagne. HW 9/10 2.04
Who would be most likely to be favourites to come straight back down, Hull or Watford? Cardiff have it in their hands now to make a decision that could keep them in the Prem after next season.................

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Overs is temtping me at Brighton-Wolverhampton: Brighton can play as they want as the last match won't affect their spot as they will be 4th after tomorrow's match. Wolves need a victory and also need to score more for a better goal difference.

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May 3pts Cardiff to beat Hull 3/1 Betfred Hull are an incredibly short price here given that they are taking on the champions. I know Cardiff will have been on the razz but whenever a player goes over a white line their competitive instinct kicks in and they will want to win. Putting it simply Hull have lost their bottle. They were dogs dinner against Bristol City two weeks ago when a win would have given them promotion and no better at Barnsley last week in the same circumstances. They struggle for goals at the best of times so I think they are an awful price to win this. At 3/1 Cardiff are decent value as they are comfortably the best side in the division after all. Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May 4pts Watford vs Leeds - Both teams to score 10/11 Ladbrokes This will be nervy and edgy just like the Hull game. The game is complicated from a betting point of view by having to guess Leeds’ motivation. Instead I’ll play a bit safer and take both teams to score. Brian McDermott sides generally have goals in them but they ship them in large supply too so I would expect this to be a high scoring game even allowing for the occasion. At 10/11 both to score looks a fair call to me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/watford-vs-leeds-betting-goals-should-be-a-given-at-vicarage-road-despite-the-occasion-20130503

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Remember Cardiff have Malky Mackay in charge and knows he can do a massive favour to the other club in his heart after such a history with them, watford. Deny Hull the full 3 points and he gives 'his' club a chance of automatic promotion. I call a 1-1 draw here, do just enough and end the season without a defeat, also remember some Cardiff players will be playing for a place in the squad/first team in the prem next year!!

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Watford vs Leeds Over 3 @ 2.00 3/10 Leeds have the habit of leaking late goals and right now, with no pressure of making the playoffs, they can play freely and offensively. Watford will of course look to score as they need to better Hull's results and therefore i expect free flowing attacking football right from the off. Charlton vs Bristol City (1) 1.78 5/10 Bristol City have said they will be blooding some youths for this last game and with Charlton looking to end their last home game on a high, i would expect nothing less than a home win for the addicks to improve their home win numbers. Bristol City have really been abject playing away and i see them taking nothing here.

As far as I'm aware that sort of thing doesn't usually occur in the UK. It's more prominent in Italy I guess where there are cultural and historical factors evident. In the UK there are different motivating factors, and I don't personally believe that too many teams would consider providing "favours" for other teams. It's hard to influence so many players and officials in the UK as culturally we're very different. I've removed a couple of posts from this thread as talk of fixed matches isn't allowed across the forum, as it's purely speculation and leads the thread off topic (as well as bringing into question the integrity of PL as a whole). I'd appreciate it if we kept to what we know as fact :ok

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Sheffield Wed vs Middlesbrough: Sheffield Wed to win @ 5/6 Sheffield Wed needs points to secure its Championship spot, while Middlesbrough are one of the teams that aren't motivated that much this round. Middlesbrough lost their last 5 away games and are without a win in their last 11 away games. Sheffield Wed are without a win in their last 4 Championship games, but they are also unbeaten in their last 3 home games(in the last 6 home games they won 3 of them). Sheffield Wed can secure their Championship spot with a win against one of the teams in worst form Middlesbrough.

Re: Championship > 30th April - 4th May Crystal Palace - Peterborough United Everyone seems to be expecting an open encounter between two free scoring and conceding teams, but I am not so sure. Palace need a point to secure a top six finish and were very happy to play out a 0-0 bore draw in what is usually a passionate derby game with Millwall in midweek. If the normal competitive nature of that fixture didn't divert them from their gameplan, why should they want to battle it out, at least early, with Posh this afternoon. United have been very much the better of these two in 2013 and have averaged a point a game more over the last ten matches, they are fighting for survival, as they have been virtually since August , they are outside the drop zone on goal difference and will be safe with a point if either Barnsley do not win, or Sheffield Wednesday lose. Therefore, a point each might well see both achieve their aim today and I see no reason for either to go gung-ho from the start, infact, I suspect both will be ultra cautious and look to see how things playout elsewhere. Then, if the need to gamble, they can. I like the half time draw at circa 2.375, neither will be out of the equation at that stage and if they then find out that results elsewhere dictate they have to step up, they still have 45 minutes to do so and the bonus is that at that time their opponent might no longer be as motivated. Forest or Bolton losing will see Palace clinch a post season spot, or Barnsley and/or Wednesday two down, will leave Posh safe. BTW these are two of the top 7 performing first half teams in the Championship and look closely matched anyway, all in all, it makes perfect sense and the odds look generous. HT Draw circa 2.25 -2.40

You just have to laugh Hull and Watford can't even win to secure a spot in the premier league. Bolton couldn't beat Blackpool and Peterborough conceded 2 in the last 8 minutes to be relegated. What was that about motivation ?
as a watford fan i dont find anything funny about this. we are probably well worth opposing against leicester in the playoffs likely down two goalkeepers and our best striker :( Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
