3.10 Cheltenham: **** Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Listed) (2m5f110y) A very tricky looking handicap overall and last years winner Kells Belle could be the answer again, she carries 11st 10lbs again and has slipped back down the handicap to a reasonable mark and is trained by Nicky Henderson who always seems to well in this type of race. Prima Porta is probably the least exposed of the field and wont need to improve much to get involved while Hi Note will give her supporters a run for their money from the front and may hold on for a place. 2.35 Cheltenham: EBF Mares’ Novice Chase Finale (Listed H’cap) (2m5f) Fascinating renewal of the EBF Finale won last year by Pepite Rose who went on to better things, I’m not sure we have anything of that calibre in this field and Violin Davis sets the standard here on a mark of 133. She has been in fine form but has 11st10lbs to carry here and these fences will be more of a test than Taunton where she won last time. I don’t think there is much value with her this time and prefer to take her on with Ixora and Tara Rose. The former is fresh from a break and wears a visor for the first time while Tara Rose will enjoy this track and will be staying on when some of the others have had enough.
