Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Cameroon vs Togo The Lions must win this match. Team with a new/old coach Jean Paul Akono failed to eliminate the Cape Verde in the ACN qualifiers and didn't score a single goal in five friendlies since then (captain Eto'o, vice captain Nkoulou, Song, Makoun, Matip and Emana failed to answer call-ups for the last friendly against Tanzania in February, 0:1). Defenders Chedjo and Nuenkou are out, but Tottenham defender Assou-Ekotto and Norwich defender Bassong are back. Experienced players like goalkeeper Kameni, strikers Idrissou and Webó are not in the squad. On the other hand, Togo played very well and made historical success at the ACN as they qualified from the group for the first time in its history. The coach Didier Six, who has been criticized lately, can count on all the players including the goalkeeper Agassa and top scorer Adebayor. Yet it is clear that Cameroon play very well in front of their fans, while the Sparrow Hawks are not convincing outside their homeland. Anyway, home odds are not attractive (not even with handicap) for me, but the fact is that both teams will be highly motivated and that both sides have one top striker (Eto'o vs Adebayor). It will probably be a rainy on Saturday afternoon in Yaounde, which can make it harder for goalkeepers so goals are my call there. over 2,5 @2.35 Marathon low stake

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Congo vs Gabon First of all, I must mention the results from the first round of the group. Burkina Faso 0:3 Congo and Niger 3:0 Gabon are official results by FIFA decisions, but actually both games were finished goalless. So that's the biggest reason why Congo (the lowest ranked team in the group) is currently the leader in the standings. Red Devils have a new coach Kamel Djabour (late last year) who has little experience as a head coach. This will be his first official game with the team in front of their fans and the pressure will be high. But his happiness is that QPR defender Chris Samba is back in the squad and it's a big boost for home team. The Panthers have some new names, but main news is that strikers, very talented Aubameyang and experienced Cousin are ready. I see quite equal match, but Gabon probably have better attackers and it can be crucial in this duel between the neighboring countries. Congo is set for favorites and I just have to play the opposite of that for good odds. Gabon DNB @2.18 Unibet low stake

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Namibia vs Malawi Regional derby between two teams that have a very difficult task, because the leader of their group is the current champion of ACN, Nigeria. Home team is highly motivated because a victory could mean a current first place in certain circumstances. They will have great support from the stands, ideal weather conditions and a full squad. On the other side, Malawi sacked coach Phiri, who has worked the past few years, last month and it can be a problem for them. New interim coach Ng'onamo will be without four regulars, and the team lost preparation game against Botswana (0:1) a few days ago. He looks certain to give a run to at least three rookies including goalkeeper, while home coach said: "We have to win this one, no draws, or defeat will be accepted". Tradition is also on the Namibian side and they are close to winning in my opinion. Namibia DNB @1.64 Unibet low stake

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Nigeria vs Kenya African champions will be without captain Yobo, Ambrose, Emenike and Uche. But other good players Mikel, Moses, Martins are ready. Away side also has some missings, but key players Wanyama and Oliech are fit. Nigeria and Kenya have clashed at senior level 13 times previously, with Nigeria coming out tops in 11 of them, the remaining two drawn. Kenya has a new coach and they will be very motivated because they have only one point from their two games so far. Also the Super Eagles will be motivated because they are playing at home for the first time since winning the title. Weather conditions and a football pitch are the factors that go in favor of the home side, but I'm not sure how much they will be convincing with a weakened defense. I thought about BTS here, but in the end I gave up. In any case, I can't see that there will be no goals or so. over 2,5 @2.18 Marathon low stake

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Côte d'Ivoire vs Gambia The Elephants will be without strikers Drogba, Kalou, Doumbia, defenders Eboue, Tiene and first choice goalkeeper Barry. Gambia will miss their captain Jarju. Odds are terrible. No bet. Tunisia vs Sierra Leone Tunisia edged past Sierra Leone on the away goals rule to qualify for the recent tournament in South Africa, so away side hopes for revenge. Tunisia have a new coach and a few good players back, but Sierra Leone have a 20-man squad, with only one home-based player. Their strikers (Kei Kamara, Bangura brothers) are dangerous. No bet. South Africa v Central African Republic Must win game for Bafana Bafana, but coach Igesund can't count on defenders Khumalo, Masilela and Sangweni. This will be their first clash against CAR (one of the fastest moving countries on the FIFA rankings, they have risen from 200 in 2010 to 52 at present). No bet.

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Senegal vs Angola The game will take place in the Guinean capital Conakry, following CAF’s one-year ban on Senegal home ground. New Senegal coach Alain Giresse has admitted that “playing in Guinea is a real handicap", but he can count on top strikers Demba Ba, Moussa Sow and Papiss Cisse. On the other hand, Angola have many important missings (Manucho, Djalma, Gilberto, Airosa). Both teams played very poorly lately and the pitch won't be in ideal condition. All point to the game without a lot of goals, but I think that Senegal will score some time because they have great strikers and great motivation under a new coach, against weakened and bad tempered Angola. Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Burkina Faso vs Niger The encounter between the two participants at ACN and the neighboring countries. The Stallions reached the finals and Niger was the last in the group, enough to say that these rivals are in what kind mood. Home team is better for the 43 positions in the FIFA rankings and have some great players such as Pitriopa, Alain Traore, Kabore, Kone... Neither team has significant absences, and I've already said about the results of the first round of the group. Must win for Burkinabe... Burkina Faso -1,5 AH @2.35 bet365 low stake

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March

It would also be helpful if Froment or someone else from Serbia/Montenegro display info from our coach who works in Africa (Mica Sredojevic iz novina "Tip").
Sredojevic said IC,Burkina Faso,Ghana and Ethiopia should win despite all facts.Zambia need to win ,Senegal,Tunisia and Nigeria he believes they will win. Do you know is Traore ready to play for Burkina Faso ? He had nasty injury during ACN. Also i dont think IC have big missings.Drogba is lazy,Kalou is funny, there are better than him,so only real loss is Eboue.I think easy win for IC.

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Thank you McNasara for some great input! I really like Senegal in this round. Angola looks poor and with Senegals class strikers i really think 1,75@betfair is a nice value. Considering Senegal AH -0,5 aswell.

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Cameroon 2:1 Togo The Lions with two goals from Samuel Eto'o beat the Sparrowhawks without Adebayor. Congo 1:0 Gabon Home side deserved their win with Christopher Samba goal. Namibia 0:1 Malawi Away coach Edington Ng'onamo was missing from the game following the death of his son. Nigeria 1:1 Kenya Home substitute Oduamadiequalised three minutes into stoppage time. Côte d'Ivoire 3:0 Gambia A comfortable win for the Ivorians in the end. Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March cheers i do not want to look leach-like so will post couple of toughts yet take them lightly as some teams it is hard get info and caf is not so easy as years back with high of home wins etc ...plus i am not expert ..etc Tanzania - Morocco host have only couple young players abroad in mazembe but are usually well organized and are boosted by recent wins in freindlies ag zambia and cameroon but i doubt rivals took it too seriously still tanzania gets results often at home against better riv than lions atlas , visitors travel with only a handfull of europe based pros wich may or not turn out good .Under looks better than 1X , they allready won here 0-1 not long ago. Lesotho - Zambia Guets look like good deal at 1.5+ but i wonder if it worth the risk , they are very motivated and know in this type of places win qualification , most overseas players in ... lesotho mainly locals players , but probably under more valuable or cover 0-0 ¿?¿ Mozambique - Guinea now host look a good deal at ok odds , many big african guns have failed in maputo , host count with some flair upfront and guinea does not look too good lately even tough tehy have a bunch of europe based players , guinea defense never too solid . Ethiopia - Bostwana Not sure 1.6 for host too valuable but with their strong home adv and ag not good travellers bostwana they should win as long as said is fit wich looks since he took part in belgium league one wek ago .. Rwanda - Mali again probably skip , host look not world beaters but can scare some at their home pitch ..probably unders best call here ... looking at others ...tricky ricky round this one imo .. i am just looking at rd congo ..looks good deal at thos odds ...north african teams and libia is not top one often struggle in such places ... host have strong squad it looks ¿?

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Tanzania vs Morocco Ivory Coast are singled out on top with seven points, so this is a very important game for both sides. Home squad includes mostly home-based players, with only Mbwana Samata and Thomas Ulimwenu based abroad. Goalkeeper Kaseja is captain. On the other hand, the Atlas Lions will miss some key offensive players like Boussoufa, Belhanda, Chamakh, El Hamdoui, Taraabt and Assaidi. Goalkeeper Lamyaghri is captain. Tanzanian outfit have won two out of their previous three international friendly games, beating both Zambia and Cameroon by a goal at home, while losing 2-1 away to Ethiopia. Morocco also beat Mali 2:1 in friendly before visit to Dar es Salaam. This is a long journey for incomplete Moroccans, where they face a three-hour time difference and 20-degree temperature difference. under 2 @1.85 pinnacle low stake

The Walias will bank on the form of the exciting Saladin Said and Getaneh Kebede who both return to keep Ethiopia's dreams alive on the penultimate hurdle on the road to Brazil. On the other side, Botswana prepared for the game with a 1-0 win over Malawi in a friendly on Tuesday in Gaborone ahead of departure for Addis on a charter plane on Thursday. It is true that home team is close to winning, but their odds have no value to me. No bet

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March We shouldn't forget that Botswana made amazing run in the qualifiers for CAN 2012. They headed their group without a loss, and they were playing in the same group with Tunisia - one of the big continental forces. It was very surprising as almost all of the team consists of local players. Surely, Ehtiopia is better at the moment and a home advantage is a big factor here, but I would personally price Ethiopia at 1.8-1.9.

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March Lads, I really apologize for poor performance on my part :sad I was very busy and my connection is very bad these days, so I have not written much about today's matches (wasn't even able to write about the League of Ireland for the same reasons). Already looking forward to the two games on Tuesday and hope for a better return in June when we have as many as 40 matches across Africa in seven days.

Re: WC > Africa Qualification > 23 - 24 March McNasara, no need to apologize - you still had some really nice shots. Probably only you should have given more credit to the very strong and reliable home favorites. Because any very strong home team won with ease, which turns out to be a tradition in Africa.
