Re: Metalist Kharkiv v Newcastle United > Thurs 21st February 4pts Newcastle to qualify 11/10 Ladbrokes Although they don’t lead in the tie I still think there’s good value in Newcastle to qualify for the next round now. They have goals in them and for every goal they score the Ukrainians will need two. Newcastle should have had two in the first leg so we know they can get at Kharkiv and with Kharkiv at home and now expected to go through they might go forward a bit too much and leave themselves open at the back which Newcastle can profit from. Re: Metalist Kharkiv v Newcastle United > Thurs 21st February Im not so sure. Going strictly by quotes in the press this week It seem the Toon are quite bullish about their chances in this one. Pardee will field his strongest possible side as a good run in this competition is the only thing they have left to play for. Newcastle could give this a real go and I fully expect them to score tonight, which will put a heap of pressure on Metallist.Newcastle really should have had this match wrapped up last week but for some poor finishing. I think the odds on Metallist are way too skinny and a lay of the homeside is definitely in order.

Re: Metalist Kharkiv v Newcastle United > Thurs 21st February Newcastle To Qualify @ 11/10 – Ladbrokes Newcastle can count themselves hard done by not to be taking a lead to Ukraine after they bossed the first leg and I think they are more than capable of advancing to the last 16 of the Europa League. Metalist’s draw at St James’ Park was their first match back since the winter break and had it not been for some fortunate decisions and poor finishing from the English side they’d be out of the tie already. Judging by Alan Pardew’s team selection last Thursday he’s likely to name a strong side once again and with their recent upturn in results they are in good shape to avoid defeat in Kharkiv. Metalist may have a brilliant home record this term (10 wins from 13 matches) but it’s tough to judge their performances given the weak league they are in. In fact two of the three sides ahead of them in the league this season, Shakhtar and Dynamo Kiev, have beaten them comfortably so they clearly struggle against better opposition.
