*Rumble Of Thunder > Musselburgh 2:45 > WIN @ 9/1 VC BOG* Won of a mark of 128 in October 2011, and in this race last year was 6th, but traded at a low of 1.99 in running, died in the last couple of furlongs, but is now 15 pounds lower than last year this time around, so weight wise, it has outstanding claims. The Philip Kirby stable pulled off a major gamble last weekend, so the horses are now going well, and the fact this horse has been out of form for a while, I reckon they could be in line for another New Years punt. Trip is fine, ground is fine and looks overpriced.

Re: Jump Racing > Tuesday 1st January Fakenham 2.30 – Minella Special 9/1 William Hill BOG Minella Special has ran well in some competitive races, especially where the form has since been franked (behind Chesil Beach Boy & Themilanhorse who are both rated upwards of 125 now). He probably needed the run LTO and while Im not 100% confident he is best on this ground, he can certainly handle it. The trip should be fine and he is one of the only horses in this line up to have some form in this class. Of the others, Likearollingstone has ran a couple of races recently but the form doesnt look the strongest. Colebrooke finished second to the progressive Tanerko Emery last time out on the back of an 8 week break. On a strict form line with that horse, he has a chance here but the form behind doesnt look great and his runs over this trip have been less than convincing. Dawn Twister is getting better with practice over hurdles. The form of his last 4 runs are pretty hard to weigh up in my opinion as the form has been ok but he looked laboured on heavy LTO and I wouldnt be convinced that 17 days is enough to freshen him up. Majorca King and Invicta Lake are both interesting runners with AP an intriguing booking on the former who has some ok form previously & the latter who nicely at Fontwell albeit in a weak race suggesting that this step up in trip will suit.
