THE NEW BOY and FAST AND FREE (if he gains a start) settle just behind them from SHOUT OUT LOUD, UNDER THE EIFELL and possibly ROCKPECKER from the wide gate. Every horse should get their chance in this barring track bias and luck. RACE ANALYSIS: Difficult race to line up. It’s the older better credentialed horses who are up in weight against the up and comers who are on the minimum weight. I’m with the up and comers as I’m not convinced some of the older horses are going well enough to be winning chances. CLANG AND BANG and NIPTIOUS look the only on-pacers in the race and NIPTIOUS has also accepted Friday night, so if he happens to run Friday CLANG AND BANG may get a very soft time of it in front. LE ROI and TAI TAI TESS settle handy while MUIRFIELD and possibly STREAKY FELLA position just off them. Looks a race where the on-pacers will be advantaged. RACE ANALYSIS: Looks a race in 2 here and I am finding it hard to split them. CLANG AND BANG is in career best form winning his last 2 races by a combined total of 6.5 lengths. He has won these races by adopting exactly the same tactics in dictating from the front and running his rivals ragged. He steps up abit in class today but drops to 51kgs after Harry Coffey’s claim and if NIPTIOUS accepts for Friday night he’ll be gifted the lead again and be super hard to run down. LE ROI is an up and coming stayer from the Tony McEvoy stable who has been impressive in his last two runs since stepping up in distance.
