1.30 Newbury Polarbrook 1pt win @ 9/1 Hills This horse was a massive disappointment on his handicap debut 2 runs ago but that was his first run for a while and he was entitled to need that run. He put that run behind him when running a much better race last time out at Carlisle. Another furlong and he would have won so the step up in trip here will suit him. The ground won't pose no problems and the trainer is in good form at the moment. Timmy Murphy is one of my favourite jockeys so he is a big positive for me. He also gets cheekpieces for the first time which could eke out a little more improvement from him.

Re: BBOTD Thursday29th Down in London all day tomorrow so need to stick this up tonight; 3.15 Newbury: Sportingbet Intermediate Hurdle (Limited Handicap) (Listed) (2m110y) Intriguing little contest for the decent prize on offer and it revolves around the Henderson horse Lyvius, he has a tall reputation and gets in this handicap off 10st 7lbs but has yet to prove he can handle this company and is not very good value on his seasonal reappearance. Vendor also is well regarded but was pulled up at Aintree recently and needs to put that behind him, he won well here over C/D last season and is preferred to Lyvius. Edgardo Sol looks the solid option here however, he was second to Cue Card over fences last time and that will have put him straight for this and the Nicholls yard can follow up last years success in the race by Rock On Ruby.
