3.05 Cheltenham: Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Hurdle (Listed) (3m1f110y) Looks a competitive race on paper but we have a lot of dead wood in the field, Lovcen will be popular for trainer Alan King and their sponsors Ultima and should like this better ground after a fair seasonal reappearance last time on soft. He should be thereabouts but 11st 12lbs is a lot to carry over this trip and two light weighted horses are my idea of where the winner will come from. Goulanes looks a typical Pipe handicap plot off 10st 2lbs and Abnaki ran well last time until fitness and ground told close home and will appreciate these conditions and has no weight to carry. Far West was most impressive at Chepstow and represents a decent level of form for this time of year in juvenile division, the yard like to target this contest and won’t be far away once again. I like the top one Mcvicar and he could be the danger, his win at Kempton showed his battling qualities and has trotted up since but he does have to give the Nicholls horse 4lbs. Flashman could come on for his run at Wetherby and is the best of those at bigger prices. Selections: 3pts Far West 7/4
