Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern and Ryman Prem Nov 17 Lowestoft Town at home to Bognor Regis Town (10/11 Corals) Even given the team issues that Lowestoft face this weekend, the price seems decent. They've been reliable at home, losing only to Kingstonian, who are better equipped than Bognor. Bognor's away record is excellent - 3-3-0. But they've generally been playing weaker sides away and although the football they play is always pleasing a series of autumn injuries has depleted the squad. It's usually the case that Bognor will find themselves outplayed by the stronger sides - Lowestoft, even with suspensions biting, remain one of those. Margate at home to Bury Town (8/5 Paddy Power, Stan James) This was 13/8 for a while on Wednesday, but even now there is some value in the price. There's a drawish feel to some Margate performances this season, but recently they have been gathering points with a bit more consistency. The squad looks strong, and even with a reshaped backline last week they overcame Harrow rather easily. Bury have emerged from a small slump to beat Lewes and ETU, and to be fair looked decent last week, but that says as much to me about East Thurrock's own slump in form. They remain dangerous opponents, and Craig Parker is a proving a dangerous customer on loan, but Margate will offer a test closer to that of Whitehawk, who took Bury apart a couple of weeks ago. I have Margate at the 5/4 mark. Canvey Island away at Hastings United (11/8 BetVics) The initial 6/4 was a terrific price, and it remains some slight value at this mark. Canvey are actually performing okay, with the only real blip in recent weeks the 4-3 home defeat to Enfield. They were unlucky to come away empty handed from Chesham in the Trophy replay. Hastings have been generally okay this season, although they have yet to keep a clean sheet at home and Canvey's progressive approach away from home can pay dividends. I've also taken the 3/1 that was initially offered about Cray Wanderers away at Hampton & Richmond Borough - 11/4 is best now. Hampton's squad - though much stronger than the visitors overall - looks weakest at the moment (with all their defensive absentees) just where Cray are strongest (in attack). Cray, thus far, have scored 11 league goals away and are unbeaten in five. Finally, I've backed Banbury United away at Hitchin Town (15/8 BetVics). I've opposed Banbury since August but there are signs that they are improving after some refreshing of the squad and they'll have a stronger squad this weekend than at any time of the season. The defence is a big worry, but it's a good time to meet Hitchin, who have performed well (and have John Frendo in sparkling form) but who've lost Ieuan Lewis to Cambridge City and Zack Burke to Forest Green - key players who'll be sorely missed.
