2.35 Ascot: William Hill Priority Prices Handicap Hurdle (Listed) (2m) Terrific contest and all eyes will be on Ile De Re for sure, if he can translate any of his improved flat form to hurdles he looks thrown in on 123. He’s in the right hands with Donald McCain an they probably know they have to strike at the first attempt before his mark rockets and just to make sure they claim 3lbs with good jockey Henry Brooke. Of the others I like the Pipe horse War Singer, he won well at Kelso last month and looks well treated here on just 10st 1lb. Plenty of opposition with the likes of Ted Spread and Cape Express to keep the betting fairly open but wouldn’t be surprise to see a plunge on the McCain horse here. Re: Jump Racing ~ Sat Nov 3rd 2.50 Wetherby: John Smith’s Hurdle (Grade 2) (3m1f) This looks a straight match between Smad Place and Cape Tribulation to me and I think the Alan King 5yo can take this on his way to better things and another crack at Big Bucks somewhere down the line. He is very good in his day and the yard had a big winner here on Friday to boost the stables confidence. The other four runners are all exposed and the likes of Tidal Bay and Crack Away Jack will probably need the run and put them straight for other targets next month.
