The Nicholls horse will be popular with Ruby on top but I’d prefer to watch him this time on his comeback after a fall last time. I like Golden Chieftain and think he could improve this season on his present mark of 129, he’s rated 140 over hurdles so a bit of room for manoeuvre, he will go on the ground and the stable are going well too. An alternative bet would be a saver on Victors Serenade, he looks to have enough weight but the yard are in form and this isn’t the greatest class 2 race you have ever seen. He goes on the ground and was at his best early on last season so cant see any reason why he can’t take this. The others all have doubts about them but Captain Sharpe could be the each way bet in the race after a recent outing on the flat to get him spot on for this.
