Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Sept 15 A few plays appeal, and once again apologies that I've not got time to analyse them properly... Ashton United at home to Grantham Town (Evs, Coral) Ashton have surprised this season, but they've a good portfolio of attacking players and that might be enough to see off a decent Grantham side that has at times looked uncomfortable defensively. Blyth Spartans away at Matlock Town (5/4 BetVictor) Defensive worries aside, Blyth look capable of continuing their bright run of form against a Matlock who are struggling this season with key players injured or off form. Some new bodies should be in by the weekend, but they have a lot of work to do. Chippenham Town away at Banbury United (13/10 BetVictor) Banbury were very poor against Hungerford midweek, barely causing the lower level visitors a problem. Chippenham will surely have the firepower - Lee Phillips leads the line these days - to overcome a Banbury that is still being rebuilt in the wake of Ady Fuller's departure. Kingstonian away at Bury Town (2/1 BetVictor) Far too big. This is a good Kingstonian, with a fluid attack that offers pace and power. Bury are getting better but the squad looks light compared to Kingstonian's and even the signing of Jordan Patrick won't help that much. AFC Totton away at St Neots Town (29/10 Bet Victor) A little generous I feel as AFC Totton are coming into some form and I'm not sure there is this much difference between the sides. Admittedly, St Neots are on a good run and are the highest scorers in the section, but AFC Totton shouldn't be this far out.

Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Sept 15 Quite a turnover going on at Banbury United. Eight squad players have left in the wake of Ady Fuller's departure but at least Ed Stein is making some signings. Adam Fry, who'll be well known to non-league regulars, is one of those joining - capable at Step 3 but I'm not sure he'd walk into many Southern Prem sides. Also in are a Step 4 player and a loanee from Peterborough United. They are also trying to clear the paperwork for a young winger from MK Dons and more newcomers are in the pipeline for today. It looks to me a bit unstructured. I really think the new owners thought the players would be happy with the arrangement which saw Fuller kicked upstairs. They didn't have a plan for what to do if almost half the squad left. With as many as six players taking their bow today and a new manager in the dugout it's really pre-season all over again for Banbury.
