It’s a bit of a mystery after that. FORFEITURE may be forced to go forward from barrier 19 as might MID SUMMER MUSIC from barrier 18. SHOPOHOLIC and BONNIE MAC sit just off the first few and look advantaged on the speed map. SKYERUSH and GAI’S CHOICE position just behind them. RACE ANALYSIS: Last Group 1 of the racing season and it’s just about as tough as it gets for punters! RED TRACER is a superior wet tracker as she showed by winning the Dane Ripper after having 6 weeks off. There is no chance she will get those same conditions this Saturday but her form on the dry is more than handy. She’s been set for this race, looks to get a favourable run on the pace has regular rider Hugh Bowman on board and meets a few of those better at the weights for beating them last start. LISTEN SON looks the sole leader and he may be able to dictate from the front. JETSET LAD from the good gate probably positions behind him with RACING HEART and HOUR OF PERIL on his back. FIREBOLT and ST.GERMAINE next in line. Looks a race where the on-pacers might be advantaged. RACE ANALYSIS: FIREBOLT is getting awfully close to a victory. He has had the poor fortune of racing against the flying Solzhenitsyn who he has run game 2nds to in his past two start. Today could be the day as he is drawn well, is well weighted under the compressed scale and has no Solzhenitsyn to deal with. ADEBISI or AUDACIOUS SPIRIT probably lead from EXCELLANTES, BOLD GLANCE and SEEK AND FIND. DURHAM TOWN and TIERQUALO camped just off them with HAVATRYST and RIVER LAD behind them. The top two in the market TROMSO and GRIFFON will get back in the field but the tempo should be good enough for them to run on sufficiently. RACE ANALYSIS: This is tough! You could easily take the field in this leg of the quaddie. AUDACIOUS SPIRIT showed enormous fight last start in the Lightning. He led at a scorching tempo and was only collared late in the piece. Saturday he rises to 1200m where he has a terrific record, draws the inside alley which is a favourable draw for his on-pace pattern of racing and stays down in the weights. ZA MAGIC will lead from a host of others who like to settle handy, some of which have to push over from wide gates, they include ONCE WERE WILD, KINNERSLY, LOVINGTHELIMELIGHT, LOVESACHALLENGE (EM), GINGA DUDE and MR LIGHT BLUE. The rest of the field will settle midfield or get back in the run. Every horse should get their chance in this barring bad luck in running. RACE ANALYSIS: WAZN has been costly to punters in the past but gets his chance today to rectify it. He comes off a strong effort in the Brisbane Cup, running 4^th behind 3 very much in form horses in Lights Of Heaven, Dance With Her and Mawingo.
