FLAT RACING THURS 21ST JUNE

Recommended Posts

the racing here at ascot is some of the hardest to try and pick a winner ..........even getting 1 winner a day is going some .....dont know why its so difficult ....probably because a lot of horses are laid out specifically so hard to gauge the form and the course is a bit stiffer than the average ......gives me a headache just looking at it ........ some nice bets today ...... 4.25 ascot another 30 runner cavalry charge and after todays trends disaster may as stick a pin in this race but ive started sensibly and crossed out any horses who dont seem to have the form to win this ..........ruled out any that hadnt performed a decent rating at ..at least a class 3 or above ,on the whole it looks like you want to be drawn low or high (8) to have the best chance and your basically looking for something that has shown enough speed to be able to come off a decent pace from behind putting all that together has lead me to PIRI WANGO who has run 2 very decent races and ran ishvana to 1.5l over 7f lto and that horse won the big mile race today in good fashion .....piri wango was carrying 9-10 that day and runs off 9-6 so 4lbs lighter so overall profile of the horse has a very strong look about it .....20/1 price looks too big .......booking of frankie dettori (hasnt had his customary winner yet ) notable also the other horse ive always liked is LORD OF THE SHADOWS who has been such a disappointment for a horse with so much talent last year .....looked a very good prospect when winning on good ground over 1mile (class 2) last year but hasnt quite got it together this year ,, has been raced on firm ..soft and the a.w but to me he has always run his best on genuine good ground .........and its going to be 50/50 whether the heavens open tomorrow so got to be careful if forecast heavy rain appears then going could change considerably which would kill any chances of a bounce back to form ......if the ground is the key then lord of the shadows is without doubt the class horse in the race and would take a hell of a lot of beating on his best run of last year available at 60.0 on betfair he is speculative but no forlorn hope especially under hannons guidance and running off 9-0 today piri wango collateral form been franked 10pts win 20/1 bet365 lord of the shadows ground could be key (wants good) fastest horse on best run 5pts win 60.0 5pts place 9.6

Re: FLAT RACING THURS 21ST JUNE 2:30 Royal Ascot: Reckless Abandon 1pt win 7/1 Betfred & Gale Force Ten 1pt win 9/1 Bet365 Reckless Abandon got off the mark at Doncaster where he beat Annunciation by two lengths. Annunciation has gone in twice since and lines up today. Reckless Abandon ran quite green that day hanging in the closing stages. That form looks rock solid because as well as Annunciation, the well beaten third The Black Jocobin was second in the Class 2 Brian Yeardley Two Year Old Trophy at Beverley. There looks to be plenty of scope for improvment from Reckless Ambition and this colt by Exchange Rate who sires some good two year olds should go well. Gale Force Ten is well bred as you would expect from connections. His sire is Oasis Dream who does very well with two year olds namely Midday Prohibit and Power. Gale Force Ten is a bit of a slow burner, but can see him stepping up here now he enters Group company. Gale Force Ten beat Leitir Mor to get off the mark and while that one was eventually well beaten at Royal Ascot yesterday he ran well for a long way and was just about in front at the furlong pole. 3:05 Royal Ascot: Momentary 1pt win 10/1 Ladbrokes & Pink Damsel 1pt win 18/1 Stan James Momentary would be a popular winner for The Queen. Her Listed race win when holding off Shirocco Star to cause something of an upset. There looks nothing wrong with that run and with the subsequent boost to the form in The Oaks Momentary looks likely to take a hand. She is bred to stay this far and could well improve for it. Pink Damsel has only raced once and this could be a big ask, however her maiden race victory at Newmarket looked to offer huge promise and this well bred filly could surprise particularly as Roger Varian has his string in fine fettle. 3:45 Royal Ascot: Sadlers Rock 1pt win 9/2 Paddy Power It usually pays to follow John Oxx when he brings a runner to the Royal meeting. And his yard is in a rich vein of form at the moment. Sadler's Rock ran really well at Doncaster last year to beat Opinion Poll by four lengths and this stayer looks to be on the up and Sadler's Rock's could improve again for this distance. John Oxx teams up with Johnny Murtagh and they are always a combination to have on your side. 5:00 Royal Ascot: Mukhadram 1pt win 7/1 Ladbrokes Mukhadram has only raced twice, however this colt by Shamardal gives the impression there could be more to come and the extra couple of furlongs could see improvement too. William Haggas has won this race in the past and with the form of Mukhadram's maidens looking quite solid, he could well be capable of stepping up and getting involved.
