BTC CUP (1200M) This time last year Doomben was a sea of Salmon and Black as the Black Caviar bandwagon rolled into Brisbane to the delight of 30,000 Queenslanders as she strolled home to win the Group 1 BTC Cup.This year, we may not have the star power of Black Caviar, but a large competitive field led by local hope BUFFERING takes the field to compete for Group 1 Glory. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN BUFFERING is one of the fastest horses in Australia, he is drawn barrier 14 but should cross over a lead this comfortably. ADAEBISI will come across also from 12 with TITLE, SEA SIREN, SATIN SHOES and NEESON just behind them. For a 1200m race there isn’t too much natural speed in this so on-pacers could be advantaged. 12^th May - Caulfield - Race 8 - 4:20PM Barry Poynter Handicap (1400M) The Barry Poyner Handicap is a 1400m Open Handicap. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: This should be run at a fast tempo with the old grey JUNGLE RULER leading from other noted front-runners such as LETHAL ARROWN and GOLD SAND. PAGO ROCK and UTAH SAINTS will settle just behind them while FASTER SON, TESTAGUY and WEALTHY LAD all push forward to attempt to settle just off the pace. The predicted tempo could suit something coming from back in the field.
