Have been playing about with my results (a small sample of around the last 80 bets) and would have been considerably better off(around 5 points) had I laid back my stake at around 1.6. I suppose the average odds on these would be around 5/1.... Is this a strategy anyone else has employed or thought about before? Maybe the lay-off point should be bigger for the outsiders or higher odds or do you think this tactic will ultimatly eat into profits or increase losses? I will keep monitoring it but am leaning towards it regardless of the bottom line as it will/should be a way of getting me off stupid safety net each-way bets and yet still decrease losing runs... Just an idea but I'd be interested in others thoughts as the 'real' flat season approaches.... Cheers.

Re: Laying Off In-Running.... Hi The Saint, There will be more people better advised to give you an answer on In Running than me but what I've been doing recently to build up some sort of a respectable bank is to create your own books and where the value lies between your perspective odds against the bookmakers just go on betfair and back at the highest odds whilst laying out at what the bookmaker is going rather than taking the chance at 1.5, 2.0 etc You might only find 3 or 4 points different but you can guarantee yourself three lays a race that are more than likely to get matched, it all builds up in the end!
