APAT Season Six will see the the introduction of two 15 Match National Online Leagues. Details of the first follows:-

APAT Presents The PokerStars.com National Online League In line with our policy to place APAT tournament properties with multiple operators in Season Six, APAT is delighted to announce that PokerStars.com will headline sponsor the APAT National Online League, starting on Sunday night March 11th and running for 15 consecutive weeks, finishing on June 17th. event_ad_vertical_online.jpg All matches will feature a $10 + $1 buy in and start at 7pm, with a 1 hour late registration. The structure will offer a 15 minute clock and a 5,000 chip starting stack to allow for lots of play. Competing Regions In a change of format, APAT members will compete in one of thirteen regionally based teams in the PokerStars.com National Online League. Formatting the teams in this way will allow for a more even distribution of players across teams, who will all compete in the Premier Division of the PokerStars.com National Online League. The regional teams and geographical boundaries are as follows:- South West South East London East of England East Midlands Europe West Midlands Wales Yorkshire North West North East Scotland Ireland apat_regional_map.jpg Players will be able to play for the Region that they currently reside in OR the Region of their birth. Once a player joins a Region, no further change will be allowed during the League. Regional Team Captains Applications are encouraged from players; particularly existing APAT Poker Club Captains, for the position of Regional Team Captain. Please see the Captain's thread. Prizes Prizes will be allocated based on both team and individual performance. Team: The three best performing members of the winning team will be awarded a PokerStars.com UKIPT seat each. The three best performing members of the runner up team will be awarded a $215 PokerStars Sunday Million entry each. The three best performing members of the third placed team will be awarded a $109 PokerStars Sunday Kickoff entry each. Individual: The best performing individual player will be awarded a PokerStars.com UKIPT seat. The runner up individual player will be awarded a $215 PokerStars Sunday Million entry. The third placed individual player will be awarded a $109 PokerStars Sunday Kickoff entry. In addition; and for the first time, the top 18 finishing individual players will be awarded APAT Ranking Points, with 18 points going to the first placed individual and 1 point going to the eighteenth placed finisher. Finally, the best finishing English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish player will be assured of a squad place with their National Team at the fifth annual World Championship Of Amateur Poker. National Team captains will have responsibility for selecting which of their players play each phase of the World Amateur Team Championship. Matchday Points Allocation Individual points will be allocated to the top eighteen finishing players at each match. The individual points will be allocated as follows :- 1st = 25pts 2nd = 22pts 3rd = 20pts 4th = 18pts 5th = 16pts 6th = 14pts 7th = 12pts 8th = 11pts 9th = 10pts 10th-12th = 9pts 13th-15th = 6pts 16th-18th = 3pts A maximum of four players per region can score individual points in any one match for calculating team matchday points. Should five players reach points scoring positions, the lowest of those points scorers will receive 0 individual points, and individual points will be allocated to the next best finisher. In this example, the player finishing in 19th position would receive 3 individual points for for the purposes of deciding matchday team points. Individual points will be totalled for every match and the region finishing with the most individual points will receive 5 match points. The region finishing with the second most individual points will receive 4 match points. The region finishing with the third most individual points will receive 3 match points. The region finishing with the fourth most individual points will receive 2 match points. The region finishing with the fifth most individual points will receive 1 match point. No other clubs will score match points. Where regions finish with an equal number of individual points, match point allocation will be sorted in the following order: a) The region who has the most individual points scorers will be deemed to finish ahead. Should this not separate the regions, b) The region who has the highest single individual points scorer will be deemed to finish ahead.

Will be Yorkshire team for me (I qualify on both counts!)

Although they've skipped some levels by the looks of it, so hopefully wont finish too late. Ah, you meant structure of points allocated etc. I haven't played these before so can't comment on that. I'm in for the West Midlands.

can anyone summarise this as it is hurting my brain? can i just reg and play or is it a team event?
its a team event, and i would expect you would be with the London team. visit Apat :ok

How the heck did it get over 500 players? Are these really all APAT team members?
Most are team members with some new recruits. Team captains try to sign up as many as possible...my self included...but tbf most of my team are regulars or have played in the past.

An exceptional five hunded and forty seven APAT members took to the virtual felt, to kick off the PokerStars.com National Online League in Season Six.Six hours into the action and we reached the final table of the $10 +$1 event, with the South East and Scotland regions both having two players remaining .Final Table bear21-07 - Wales – 326k GiftedLV – South East – 241k Hooneybadg – Scotland – 296k leepmar82 – South East – 474k mattyd86 – East Of England – 315k okhansen – Europe – 326k SantinoAPAT – Scotland – 187k Spursman – London – 356k WH1TEHORSE – West Midlands – 211kSantinoAPAT was the early aggressor at the table, amassing a chip stack of 1.3m at one stage, before finally going out in 4th place to mattyd86 who was now chip leader.3 handed, and the chip lead swapped between mattyd86 and Honeybadg on numerous occasions, before Honeybadge knocked leepmar82 out in 3rd, his A7 seeing an A on the flop to crack KK.By this point, the team points had been decided, with the South East taking maximum points, and Scotland taking 4 points for second. The indivual win was now between East Of England’s mattyd86 (Matthew Dent), and Scotland’s Honeybadg (Louis Manson).Heads up, saw Honeybadg with 1.8m and mattyd86 with 860k, but with the blinds still relatively low in comparison to the chip stacks, there was still plenty of play in this contest. And so it proved, with mattyd86 clawing his way back to even out the chip stacks, and both players then swapping the chip lead.After over 8 hours of play, the deciding hand saw mattyd86 with a pair of Sevens against the A 6 of Honeybadg. The board favouring the Scot to pair both his hole cards and give Louis the individual win, 25 player points and $1,028.68Congratulations to Louis, and all the players scoring points .Final Match Result South East – 5 points Scotland – 4 points West Midlands – 3 points Wales – 2 points East Of England – 1 point

There has been a great deal of discussion on the structure; particularly on the Captains board, following last weekend's opening match in the National Online League. As a result APAT and the Captains have agreed to test a slightly reduced structure for match 2. This will consist of 4,000 starting chips and 12 minute blinds - a structure which is still deeper than PokerStars own deep stack structure. These changes should see the final table completing around 12.30am. We look forward to seeing you all ahead of match 2 and as always, we will listen to your feedback following that match also - but hope the changes we've made will allow an even greater number of players to enjoy the PokerStars.com National Online League.

  • The league will be played on the APAT Online Cardoom
  • The league will comprise of 10 matchdays, ensuring no clashes with APAT live events
  • There will be no mainland Europe team for this league. All mainland Europe players are invited to join any region that they have an affiliation with
  • Only the top 3 players scores will count towards the allocation of team points
  • The top 3 teams will be invited to enter a team in the APAT UK Team Championships, held at the G Casino Luton in January 2013
  • Individual added value prizes have been extended to the top 7 individual finishers
  • All players that register for a minimum of 8 of the matchdays will qualify for a Genting Poker Series Main Event Freeroll
