Flat racing ~ Sun 8th Jan

1.50 Southwell - Ace Master - His three wins have come here at Southwell, culminating in win here last time when beating Arkaim by 1 length. He still looks to have something in hand with Arkaim, who is in receipt of 2lb today. I've rated Ace Master as a 29% chance, so the 3/1 currently available with Paddy Power may show a little value. Hilbre Court looks interesting (but in decline) with three wins here at the distance, but hasn't won for nearly two years. So Is She also likes Southwell, but will need to step up today for this grade of race.

1.50 Southwell: Ace Master - 3pts win @ 3/1 Paddy Power (BOG)

2.50 Southwell - Ishiamiracle - She may be able to follow up following from her success in a 5f maiden here last time out. While she has performed consistently in her races, she was primarily targeted at 7f or 1m races but she always found one or two to good. Returned to sprinting distance last time, she won by 6 lengths which shows which she may be better suited to 5f or the 6f that she has today. She has plenty of experience at Southwell which can only be a plus. Wicked Wench could likely figure here, as she been running well lately. Sonko, who has previously finished ahead of Wicked Wench, won yesterday, potentially franking Wicked Wench's recent form.

2.50 Southwell: Ishiamiracle - 5pts win @ 5/4 Paddy Power (BOG)

Re: Flat racing ~ Sun 8th Jan 12.50 Southwell The racing careers of many of this motley crew must surely be hanging in the balance so this looks a good opportunity for CANADIAN DANEHILL to return to winning ways. Won off here off 91 in his pomp and is down to 50 today. 6/4 gen, 2 pts win 1.20 Southwell Arkaim was second to ACE MASTER here last time but the latter has the better draw here and could confirm the placings. He's a multiple course winner, open to more improvement over the trip. 4/1 gen, 1.5 pt win 1.50 Southwell NEWPORT ARCH ran well when upped to 1m4f here last time and showed this sort of trip is not beyond him. Has edged up slightly in the weights but capable of better over middle distances. 7/2 gen, 1 pt win 3.20 Southwell Dancing Freddy would not be winning out of turn but isn't getting much help from the handicapper. Of more interest is LA CAPRIOSA, who joins the in-form Scott Dixon and has dropped to a lovely mark. From a low draw, a bold bid looks assured. 4/1 gen, 3 pts win 3.50 Southwell DA'QUONDE had the beating of Gorgeous Goblin in a C&D maiden here last time and starts life in handicaps on a fair mark - 52. Has a better draw than that rival and likely to go well. 3/1 Hills, Coral, 11/4 gen, 1 pt win NAP: La Capriosa Double: Canadian Danehill & La Capriosa - 0.5 pt Treble: Canadian Danehill, La Capriosa & Ace Master 0.25 pt
