Reasoning Not a bad effot of her reappearance last time out. Stayed on the final furlong to take 4th near the finish in a Maiden at Chester on her first try at 1m2f (previous long was 1m). The winner of the race was Sir Michael Stoute's Flora Beauty followed by Godolphin's Kahraba, and William Haggas' Shurah with those behind her coming from trainers Luca Cumani, Sir Henry Cecil, Mark Scudamore, and Mark Johnston so it was not an easy field. It was also her first run of the year so she should do well if capable of building on that. The 5f straight should also do her well. Her best run was at Hamilton (1m) when 2nd to State Opera on her second career start last year. I think connections expect much from her based on previous jockey bookings of Tom Queally (debut and penultimate run) and Paul Hanagan in the other two rides. Tom Eaves was on board last time out and Philip Robinson is on board today. She is the only entry of the day from trainer James Bethell. His last run was good for a win at the trip of 1m3f.

Bookmaker/Price Victor Chandler @ 8.00
Reasoning Has raced at this course and distance the last two runs. Penultimate run for 3rd of 7 by 3/4 lengths. Last time out for 2nd of 7 by 3/4 lenghts. Penultimate run was on Good ground with LTO on Soft. The Soft ground outing was a much better effort and today has a Soft going so expect a big run. She's ran well since taken to the turf. Last All-Weather run was in June for an 11th of 12 run. It's been Turf ever since for 7th of 11, 1st of 8, 1st of 7, 3rd of 7, and 2nd of 7 so she is steadily improving. Had a different trainer for those wins but the last two had been with the current trainer Ron Harris and he has a good chance to make it third time lucky at the C&D.

Reasoning Lat of 6 runners last time out but that was on Good to Soft. The selection prefers better ground. His previous runs on Good to Soft was for PU of 10 and 9th of 14. Penultimate run was only on good but finished well for 3rd in a Claimer behind Zomerlust and Sonny Red with the favorite Tro Nesa in 4th. He also acts well at this course and distance and that form gives him all the chance today. 2nd of 8 by a 1/2 length to Barren Brook in August 2010 with Pepper Lane behind him by a neck in 3rd (Good to Firm), 8th of 11 but that was his first run of 2011 and may have needed the run (Firm) and his last C&D visit was last May for 2nd of 5 to Thrust Control. Both placed efforts came after a bad run so he's proven to bounce back when being sent here.

Reasoning Promist on debut when 3rd of 10 at York in June. Not built on that but capable of running well here. Even without any placed efforts he was not totally disgraced in all runs. Her last outing was in a Class 2 Nursery at York so he has to be showing something good at home. Her penultimate run was for 5th of 12 in his Handicap debut. Trainer Tim Easterby selects to fit him with blinkers and should go well if that's able to recapture his debut form.

Reasoning Capale from making a surprise here. Trainer Kevin Ryan has two entries with the other one among the market leaders. But, jockey Philip Makin is booked with the selection. The selection tried 1m for the first time last time out. It was at Leicester; Led, headed over 6f out, chased winner until ridden over 3f out, soon weakened, tailed off. He is well drawn as the field tend to favor high drawn horses in Sprints here no matter where the stall is at. Stamina should be improved today.

Reasoning 60,000euros colt by Medicean making his 7th start today. Trainer Paul Cole sends just him to the track today. Cole does not have many runners here the last 5 seasons but they have been quality entries; won 2 out of 4. The selection is a 7f winner at Kempton Park from his 2nd career start. He began the year in a Class 3 Handicap followed by a Class 5 Classified Stakes. The last two had been in Class 4 Handicaps so the drop into a seller should make things easier for him. He raced at 1m2f at Sandown last time out finishing 7th of 8 by 13 1/2 lengths. Prominet until ridden 3f out and could not last the trip but the trop to 1m should suit along with the easier rivals.

Reasoning Improved from two consecutive runs with Richard Kingscote in the saddle in July and August. He was not booked last time out. The finsihed 9th of 12 in July being held up then improved with a 3rd 7 by taking up the running. Well drawn in stall 4 to take up the running today for this 1m trip. Trainer TOm Dascombe does well in sellers winning 3 of 9 with 3yo's the lsat 5 seasons and overall 12 of 47.

Re: Flat Racing - Sep 21st 4.00 Redcar BILLY CADIZ @ 40/1 Bet >365 EW A poor seller here, and I don't like this favourite Doctor Crane on his first run for Dandy Nicholls. Ex class horse running in a seller is never a good sign. Billy Cadiz, however, goes off a massive 40/1 having shown some promise in his last 2 runs for the first time in his career. Ran a good 2nd 2 runs ago in a Cl 6 hcap behind Drive Home when sent off a relatively unfancied 22/1 shot on firm ground. Then went to Newcastle, where he didnt seem to handle the softer conditions. Despite that, he managed to run a good 4th. Back on firmer ground today, I think he can put in a good showing. Back up to a mile which may suit. On official ratings, this horse has no chance but this is a poor seller.

Reasoning Debut for trainer Ruth Carr (same owner) after leaving Andrew Balding's yard. The selection have not raced since August 20th and this is the first time he goes in a Class 6 race. Top weight today. He's made all the running before in a Class 5 and Class 4 so he might be tough to catch now dropped in Class. He did finish 9th of 9 runners last time out but only by 7 1/2 lengths and it was a Class 4 Handicap; Broke well and soon led, headed 2f out, weakened soon after.

Reasoning Very poor in the last three runs beating only two runners last time out and last of 17 and 14 in the previous two. Drop back to Class 6 gives him a chance. The last three runs had been in Class 4,5,4. The two runs before those was in Class 6 and he won both starts by 1 1/4 (5f, Good to Firm) and 2 lengths (6f, Good to Soft). His last run was much better than the previous two so it looks like he is gettting back to top form. He was 7th of 9 by only 4 1/2 lengths with the previous two defeats by 24 and 13 1/2 lengths.

Selection Warneford (Each-way)
Strength 1/10
Date 21/09/2011
Bookmaker/Price Bet365 @ 13.00
Reasoning Only runner of the day from trainer B J Meehan. Meehad had two runners finished 2nd at Belmont Park over the weekend and return to Britain with two winners from two runs yesterday. They won at 7f by 3 lengths in a Maiden and at 1m2f by 5 lengths in a Handicap at Beverley and Folkestone. The selection have not looked good in the last two starts but jockey Martin Dwyer was absent in the saddle for those runs. He was on board the previous two finishing 3rd of and 7th of 14 in Maidens. The selection raced here last time out so he knows the track by now; 5th of 9 by 6 1/2 last time out in a Class 4 Handicap.

Selection Port Hollow (Insurebet 2 places)

Reasoning Promise last year from two runs. 4th pf 10 by 3 lengths on debut at Warwick followed by a 5th of 18 by 1 3/4 lengths at Newmarket. Off for 9 months until returning last month. She raced here over 1m last time out and won by 4 1/2 lengths. It was her first try on the All-Weather. She made all from stall #5 and given the #2 today. Behind her in 2nd was Phoenix City who followed up with a 4 length win in a Newmarket maiden 8 days later. The selection is well bred by Juddmonte so there is more to come from her. The drop in trip is not a problem, she made her firsrt two starts at 7f.

Reasoning Won All-Weather at this course and distance last time out. She was making good progress each run and finally won fourth time out. LTO was her first run with jockey Kieren Fallon who is again booked tonight. They were drawn wide in stall #11 but did very well to race prominent, chased leader after 2f, led just over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, drew clear final furlong to win by 2 1/4 lengths from the Botti/Spencer entry. She should continue to progress based on her pedigree. She is by Shamardal, second foal and half-sister to the Group 2 winner Lolly For Dolly.

Reasoning Just 8th of 10 by 5 lengths last time out but that was from nearly two months off. It was also at Brighton on Soft going. Worth to follow now racing here. She is winless from 22 starts but did finished 2nd and 3rd twice each. The two 2nd placed efforts came at this track from six tries, 525020. Even better at the 6f trip here where she finished 2nd twice from three runs. Jockey Luke Morris is booked and he knows how to win here. Trainer Giles Bravery is in good form with his last winner going the 6f trip here. His form the last 30 days is 10215483 and this is his only runner all day.
